Super little cafe with good quality food and drink. Generally take my 3 year old grandson in there and he loves the books, many of which are for his age group, and drawing in the large chalkboard on the wall.

I love being part of the REader family- as a volunteer a Reader Leader I’m not made to feel any differ t than paid staff when I go to Calderstones. Everyone always has a ready smile and if I arrange something before. I Go it’s always ready for me. It great and easy access for me and my trusty mobility scooter and my stick. The only one think I would grumble about is the ramp to the cafe , my scooter wouldn’t make it up ther and nor would I so I had to battle the rickety stairs. But once inside, everything you could need and want Smashing Thanks for ha I gotta me!

Interesting tour round the old mansion with Richard today and a nice lunch in the cafe. History of park and building is interesting and nice to see this understated gem of Liverpool's heritage slowly being restored to its former glory.

We came here for shelter when it started with heavy rain. We had some coffees and some slices of Victoria sponge. The coffees and cakes were lovely.

Pretty good value. Food was really nice (coffee was a little burnt maybe but might just have been a roast we don’t like). Everyone super friendly and helpful and just to reiterate, really good prices for a breakfast (which was needed in preparation for new years)

I'm actually shocked this place's got 3.5 on Tripadvisor. You definitely shouldn't expect restaurant food from there - it's just a small cafe for a quick bite. Staff is friendly, service is fast and they've got quite a few vegan options on the menu. I loved their iced latte with oat milk. We got ciabatta with vegan cheese and veggies + falafel and hummous wrap and they tasted just fine.

Lovely place, friendly staff. Food was fine. However all our cutlery from teaspoons to forks and knifes were dirty.

Had a gorgeous pre theatre dinner today. Had the ham hock and my friend had the goats cheese. Mains had goulash and the pork. All perfectly cooked and and seasoned, service was sensational with real attention to detail. Thank you so much for a lovely evening, we will definitely be back. 👌

Great place to spend some time on a warm Sunny day plenty of open space to relax. Good for dog walkers. Didn't have any food but looking at other people the food did look very well made.

Wonderful cafe in the heart of Calderstones park. Plenty of seating, both inside and outdoors. Many of the staff are young and it can be quite hectic during busy hours, but the food is good, the cakes are very tasty and the coffees are well made. Dogs are welcome to queue but can sit on the benches outside. Great place for families, people walking the dog or simply going for a walk and fancy a pit stop.

This review is solely for the cakes, I personally want to shake the hand of whoever bakes the cakes at The Reader Cafe, they are incredible and nothing like I’ve ever tasted before. The Victoria Sponge is to die for. Mouthwatering every time. Thank you for your service.
