Quite possibly one of the most friendliest and welcoming bars I have EVER attended! Such an amazing atmosphere, really good service, the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind and the manager was outstanding! Really down to earth and friendly, and I will most definitely give this 5 stars! Well deserved 5 stars! Would definitely recommend for a chill bev and good vibes!

Fantastic little place! No longer a restaurant since covid, but they serve fantastic beer. Best Guinness I've ever had in liverpool, too. They actually let it settle properly. The staff are so kind, felt like part of the family from the moment I walked in.
It's definitely a good place for students, BUT I think everyone will enjoy this place, cheap and cheerful and a happy atmosphere. It's nice and clean- not a sticky table in sight!
The seating is cosy if you sit in the cosy seats, but some of the seats could do with cushions or just bring your own! Lol

My boyfriend and I love the Scholar and come here almost every week. The Scholar’s Ruin is a cheap and tasty beer made here, and the atmosphere is always brilliant. Also, they always show the football games.

Decent pub with a good atmosphere.
Good drink selection and cheap prices for city centre.
Plays sport but only has 3 TV’s and a projector that they don’t always use.
