This place is not only historical, it’s hysterical! Starting with the men’s bathroom. I cannot tell you how many women found their way to the men’s room! Probably beause the men’s room is pretty dang cool. The food was terrific and the lunch crowd on a weekday wasn’t bad at all. Very convenient as several major tourist sites are within blocks of the establishment. Beautiful, elegant but not Posh-ish at all! Affordable too!

Amazing place! Best food I got on Liverpool, definitely the best vegan apple pie I had in my life. If I ever pop in Liverpool again I’m totally coming back to check again on their top quality red wine selection and real, tradicional, well served British food. Delicious vegan versions, delighted myself on the most delicious lentil pie with lots of tasty gravy. Salad is a special mention cos I’m not a fan of carrots and yet I loved it with leek. Prices were down to earth and place was beautiful. Fans of The Beatles, Paul McCartney specially will be thrilled. For me, dreamer and architecture student, I got mesmerized by the trip into Victorian times. It’s a big place, with lots of more private area where larger groups can meet and gather together in a different vibe from the rest of the consumers - that’s because their menu has from coffee to drinks. You can order from table with your phone or at the desk. My only complaints are about the dismissing attendants, they were not very welcoming, and the next day leftover champagne they serve as a free treat for the tourists of the sightseeing bus could be a little bit less obvious but it won’t kill you and it’s free.99

Beautiful pub with amazing interior design. Eye candy if you like old and beautiful pubs. Sadly the young staff was very poor and showed zero interest in being service minded.

Beautiful building and a stunning interior. Built over 120 years ago opposite the Philarmonic Hall. Every room, including the gents loo is impressive. Good range of cask ales as well. Apparently both Paul McCartney and Buddy Holly performed here.

It's the perfect place to visit!! Wonderful atmosphere and interior design! The menu is very comprehensive, it was hard to decide! We had the fish and chips that was excellent! With a pint of ale. For dessert, apple pie and the brownie. Wow. Fantastic! Service is wonderful. A great visit for visiting from the USA.

One of the nicest pubs in the world. I felt like being invited to have a beer with the royals. Will definitely come again. Good service, awesome beer and unique ambience

If you want to have traditional British food in a beauty location, this is the place to go. Wonderful interior and tasty food. We had the steak pie, goat cheese pie and fish and chips and all were very tasty.

Absolutely Classic Pub that is a must place to see for anyone visiting Liverpool. Very grand and beautiful interior with dark woods and high ornate ceilings. Drink selection is exceptional from beers to gins with plenty of choices to choose from. Service was friendly and fast . Great place to find a cozy corner and relax in the ambiance and take it all in . Definitely worth checking out all the rooms before you leave and that includes the men’s restrooms that they are also well known for.

Popped in to The Philharmonic Dining Room mainly to see the marble gents toilets that it's renowned for! So much so that the staff made sure it was empty so that women could have a look! The rest of the decor is lovely too - very traditional dark wood. There a few separate areas as well as the main bar. Service was good.

Incredible decor - like stepping back in time. Everywhere you look there are beautiful carvings, decorative Victorian mirrors and antique tiles… Wonderful staff, nothing was too much trouble and their great service was all done with a lovely friendly sense of humour. Food was fantastic too!
