The place is romantic. The food is decent. You don't actually have a very good view in the restaurant. It's nicer view in the sky pod bar. The food is quite pricey. I can have similar quality food at a cheaper place compared to this

Love the ambiance of the place and the fact that it is on the top floor of the building, makes it even feel more special to be able to get a table. Food wise, I loved their small sample appetizer that was compliments of the chef. We had the duck egg and it was good!! I would recommend this dish! We ordered the fish with asian dressing, (i forgot the name) and it was okay. Nothing special for me.

Had the corn fed chicken with gnocchi -- 3.5/5
My friend had her seafood dish - 3/5

Overall, the ambiance made it top quality but the food menu that day did not seem to be anything spectacular. Maybe next time I would catch them having a better menu set than this.

Located on the 37th floor of the Sky Garden in the Walkie Talkie, Fenchurch Restaurant is a seafood-focused restaurant catering to the high-end. In their own words, “the menu is best described as British contemporary”, serving a wide selection of produce from the sea whilst complementing it with some pretty impressive meat dishes.

Located on the 37th floor of the Sky Garden in the Walkie Talkie, Fenchurch Restaurant is a seafood-focused restaurant catering to the high-end.

In their own words, "the menu is best described as British contemporary", serving a wide selection of produce from the sea whilst complementing it with some pretty impressive meat dishes.

Dining with a stunning view of London in the background, the meal started with roast wood pigeon breast which was great. The pigeon was cooked spot on and served along with a cream purée, pickled swede, berries and beetroot made for an interesting flavour combination which was rather enjoyable.

Moving onto mains, the Dover sole, served with scallop and shrimp mousse, ravioli, capers, samphire and mussel cream, was really something. The sole had a taste that resonated fresh with a firm texture that only reinforced this. Drizzled with that rich mussel cream, it made for a really fantastic dish all round.

The food here is beautiful and the quality is as high as the location where the restaurant is based. However, be warned that you pay for the privilege with a premium being charged for both the quality of the view and the produce. How much of a premium? These two dishes set me back roughly £70 and that's just from the menu price (i.e. without service). However, was it worth it? Yes...for a very special occasion as in today's London dining scene, that money could go a lot further elsewhere.

Arguably one of the hottest restaurants in town right now, Fenchurch @ the Sky Garden takes sky high dining to a dizzying level with spectacular views over London. At 37 floors up in 20 Fenchurch Street (aka the Walkie Talkie to me and you), this place is super cool.

The décor is elegant, warming and definitely 5 star with the real treat being the outstanding view!

Now, here at the Kitchen Delights blog, we love bubbles and a bottle of prosecco at the £40 price mark was swiftly opened whilst we deliberated over the menu. The food is mostly seafood and meat based but for vegetarians I was very impressed with how well they had been catered for with a number of creative dishes.

Our waiter gave us complimentary dough balls with warm oozy butter inside to start with (gorgeous). We then dived into the starters and shared a rabbit Bolognese with wild garlic, Berkswell & sourdough which was rich and warming and probably best suited to a cooler evening. We also shared a delightfully colourful vegetarian dish – gnocchi with cauliflower and apple and pomegranate. The small apple pieces and gnocchi made for a surprisingly winning combination.

Despite coming from a family of visual artists, I do not have much of an aesthetic eye; most art in galleries is lost on me, and I've never knowingly gone out of my way to offer an opinion one way or another on a paint scheme or wallpaper print or any of those other things that people seem spend inexplicably vast chunks of their lives fretting endlessly over instead of just getting on with important things like eating. So probably because of this missing part of my brain, when it comes to tall buildings, I'm very rarely offended. I liked the Gherkin, but then so does everyone; it's a wonderful thing, soft and organic (and ever-so-slightly risqué), an instant comfortable classic of the London skyline since it opened a decade ago. And I also liked the Shard - bold, futuristic, vaguely terrifying , following you around London like the Mona Lisa's eyes, wherever you happen to be and whether you like it or not. And now, at the risk of sounding like a complete pleb, I even quite like the Walkie Talkie. I like the way it defies gravity, splaying out ridiculously towards the top, and I like the idea of a sky garden, something I'd been patiently waiting for since seeing Empire Strikes Back as a kid. Mainly, though, I like the Walkie Talkie because its flagship restaurant, Fenchurch Bar & Grill, housed in a cosy pod overlooking the bustle of the sky garden itself, is really rather lovely indeed. I don't know why I should continue to be surprised when restaurants in skyscrapers turn out to be good; since Galvin @ Windows, Hutong, Duck & Waffle and Sushisamba, the Curse of the Tall Restaurant has surely long been broken. And here is another to count amongst that number, where slick service and impressive food are accompanied with views that would be a reason to visit alone.

To get the most out of a dinner reservation here, it's best to time it just as the sun sets over the city. The golden hue from the atrium and garden as you sip on your cocktail is hard to beat. Service was very attentive and knowledgable of all menu items and for starters I went with the rabbit 'bolognese' as recommended.

As we waited for our meal, a complimentary amuse bouche of artichoke soup with parsley oil was given to us. It was thick, rich and earthy like mushrooms.

For my starter, the rabbit dish was quite rich but the small portion meant it wasn't overbearingly so. I loved the addition of crispy garlicky bits sprinkled all over. Robin ordered the tartare of mackerel, served in a clamshell, with cockles and oyster cream. It was tart and fresh and I wish I had the same!

For mains, I got the carabinero prawns from the Grill options, which came with triple cooked chips. Robin selected the fillet steak that also came with truffle Mac n cheese. Despite the prawns tasting delicious, my only slight disappointment was their size. For £28 for 6 prawns, I was expecting something a little bigger. The chips, though tasty, were more like roast potatoes. I could be biased though as I am more of a thin crispy French fry person.

The steak was rare, tender and in my opinion a good size. The Mac and cheese was garlicky- this is great- and also came with the gigantic chips.

For dessert, he ok hose the raspberry soufflé with whiskey and oat ice cream and I went for he strawberry doughnut. This was probably the best part of the meal. The 'doughnut' was deconstructed and my plate always adorned with strawberry jelly cubes, sliced strawberries, honeycomb pieces and lime ice cream, with the doughnut balls on the side. Robin's soufflé was fruity, with a hint of spice that reminded me of Christmas.

Price wise, the restaurant is on par with say Hawksmoor, however portions are not quite the same. I couldn't fault the service or my meal, and for a date night it was a lovely setting. Once we settled he bill, we wandered around the Sky Garden with the music pumping, the lights low and that glittery view of the city lights below.

Absolutely fantastic views, you need ID to gain access, plus be advised book three weeks before you go , there is a bar and restaurant but you will also need to book. It is a truly beautiful place to really see the city from , but you must have a head for heights!!

Been here before and love it.. the atmosphere is brilliant and the sights to see across the city are remarkable. Obviously from my previous visit, I was shocked to see how much the prices had shot up so that put us of staying longer than we would of wanted. It's free to get in, the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable who are happy to help.

A fun experience but lunch in the brassiere was very expensive and the food looked good but didn’t taste as good as it looked. The views were great but there were less plants than we thought there would be. Next time we would skip the meal and queue for the free view tickets instead.

Painless quick entry with reservations. The queue was long for those without. We were lucky to have a clear, sunny day so the views were great. The café is reasonably priced but breakfast ends at 11am - not so great for a weekend brunch.

Brilliant place to visit when in London, right by monument underground station. Has a sky garden viewing point at the top, with stunning views of London and beyond. Unbelievably it is free as well. Nice relaxing area to sit and have a drink and some food. 360 degree views of London from the terrace. Just make sue you book tickets in advance as you can jump the queues on the day

This is an amazing place to see London from above. Entry is free but you need to book a time in advance. It’s also nice to have a balcony, a place to sit and also buy drinks too

A great place to have one of the best 360 degree views of most of the London attractions. I recommend everyone to book your tickets in advance if you don't want to waste your time in a long queue. That is not sure if you get a chance to go inside the building. You can see very good views of St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge and some other attractions. The top floor has good food options. It will take around 45 minutes max along with so many photos to cover from all sides. The lift is insanely fast.

After you get through the airport style security the lifts are incredibly fast at taking you up to the sky garden floor. The view is very much worth it. Much better to be looking at the shard and the skyline rather than from it. There are a few food and beverages places but very expensive. Toilets are not very well maintained unfortunately

AMAZING SKY GARDEN … AND IT’S FREE! Even though it’s free, you’ll need to book a timed ticket in advance on their website. They allow walk ins from 10:00am, but that stops at around 12:00pm and you’ll be waiting behind all the timed tickets. So if you haven’t booked, the window is limited for you to visit. That said, when you do go in, you’ll be AMAZED at the views from the top (the 35th floor). The greenery up there is amazing and it provides arguably the best views of London from here, even better than the Shard. There’s some amazing eateries up there where you can buy food and drink, I wish I’d known before buying a Starbucks beforehand. They don’t allow you into the building with your own food and drink, so you’ll need to consume it before you enter. Overall, I’m surprised they don’t charge for this! Take advantage that it’s free whilst you can!
