we love our family, friends and food not always in that order! but find a place to bring them all together and share some wonderful memories is really what makes us happy- we recently had our anniversary and my wife's birthday so decided to make a special trip into London booked a show and looked for restaurants - big choice difficult choice but decided to look at a few reviews, luckily we found Applebee's and booked
we decided to get early to the market and spent a hour or so wandering round tasting samples of what ever caught our eye or our nose.
we arrived by chance outside and saw the Applebee's restaurant sign with a que of 20 or so and thought wow will we get in? on closer inspection the restaurant have a hot plate cooking seafood in wraps and the aroma's were mouth watering and attracted a lot of hungry souls.
although a full hour early we decided to look at the menu and see what the restaurant looked like as this was our first visit
The fresh seafood board was full of delights and after viewing were about to leave for further market shopping when a friendly face with a broad smile approached and asked if he could help, after a brief discussion he offered to bring the full menu and the drinks list and showed us the table where we would be sitting it was occupied by regulars he approached them with a ripple of laughter and a few minutes later we were seated and chatting to Jack and deciding what wine to have with our dinner
Jack's knowledge of wine was exceptional and after a few photos were taken we were left to enjoy one of the best meals we have eaten, stunning.
we have arranged for our friends and family to meet again at the restaurant in September and are looking forward to the experience and meeting Jack again
it was a real pleasure with a vibrant market tumbling past and to find the sanctuary of a beautiful seafood restaurant with great staff and a first class owner Jack it was an experience we will treasure forever.
As the subject of recent culinary trauma, I felt I needed a bit of a safe option for a meal. Hence we decided on Applebys. Hopefully no surprises here as no polling agencies were involved (unlike *cough* Brexit) but the general commentary seems to regard it favourably. Skipping straight to the mains, we decided to go heavy on the seafood at this fishmonger-by-day, fish-restaurant-by-night shop. The hope was that they would not be busy serving the slops of the day but instead would be eager to prepare exquisite cuisine.
I enjoyed a late lunch here with a couple of friends. In short stick to what they are good at ... Fish! I went for the surf and turf and the steak was not good. On the other hand the lobster was fantastic. Lovely and sweet and buttery.
Half decent wine list and good service. Simple interior.
If you're a fish lover go here. The menu has the date printed in it, showing they vary it & use fresh fish. The dishes are interesting, simple & brilliantly cooked. We'll be going back.
The fish was really fresh, especially the prawns which were not only huge but totally juicy. The cajun spices gave the whole thing a great kick and really complimented the sweet chilli sauce. It’s the perfect pit-stop lunch that will revive you and indulge you in the knowledge that you are eating something exceedingly fresh and of great quality, just as things should be in Borough.
I had the experience of visiting this place and found it to be quite decent in terms of food. The food was delicious and it was quite reasonable as well. The only thing that wasn't that impressive was the service. I feel the staff could have been a little more warm and friendly. All in all it is a nice place to be in.
This place is really known by the seafood that they will be providing you with. I liked the starters more than the mains but that is one man's opinion. If you are planning on visiting here do try scallop app it is perfect.
The only thing that I found not good enough about this place was service which according to me was pretty slow and they really should work on that.
This place is situated outdoors and is a small stand offering seafood wraps and fish. To begin with, they a huge variety to offer. Their Cajun fish and garlic prawns are a MUST try, Cajun seasoning surreptitiously lifts up all the flavors and keeps you longing for more. The smell itself is a bait. The fish is fresh, delightful and grilled in front of you. Coming to my wrap, I ordered a melange of Salmon, Cod and Haddock, nicely blended flavors and filling. On the side were crunchy vegetables and Tortilla sauce. This place is value for money, the food being fresh and healthy. Definitely a good option for a light lunch.
The seafood paradise offers some great and fresh sea food. We had tried the fish fillets which were savory and sumptuous. the only downside being that they offer no sides such as mashed potatoes or chips to their mains. Come here when you want to overload yourself with fish. The prices are reasonable and the service is swift.
I really like this restaurant for the quality of fish they serve and that too at quite reasonable prices. The staff is always amiable and the service is quite good. I must recommend you to try their scallops and aubergines. They are really delicious. The food is very well-prepared and presented. They also have certain deals offering huge discounts if you book 24 hours in advance for a Saturday dinner.
I absolutely loved this place! So much so that we had to go a second time during our few day visit just to try more dishes.
The seafood is so fresh and the dishes are creative and taste amazing. It is located at a good spot in borough market and the service was really good as well.
I would definitely recommend taking the scallop starter and the oysters as well!
Among the bustle of Borough Market I came across Applebee's Fish. I was so glad that a table was available inside to get away from the crowd and the noise.
Within relaxed décor, very friendly and efficient staff worked well to deliver great tasting, well presented, food. My whole Seabream was perfect!
Although sounding lovely, I did not try any dessert, so it gives me something to look forward to next time.
As a sea food lover, I wholly recommend a visit.
Took a while for our mains to come, but all in all very worth it. The pasta was amazing and fresh, and the portions were very hearty. Our server was very understanding and tried her best to get our food to us. The seafood was all very fresh.
Such a beautiful place in an amazing location. Ambience was so chilled and inviting. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was out of this world! Cocktails were delicious! Definitely be returning to sample more delicious fish
This place is a great little Italian run fish restaurant in borough market where the fish is always fresh and the food tastes as good as it looks. The staff know their fish and are always helpful and not overbearing. I tried a cold Italian fish soup called caciucco which I had never tried before and which was very refreshing on a hot summers day. I followed that by tuna steak with a side of chips which was cooked to perfection medium rare. No bad attitude in this place just great food and great service at a reasonable price point.
High quality and very tasty shellfish lunch
We had mussels and dressed crab for main courses. Both dishes were delicious, fresh and well presented with generous portions. Service was efficient and friendly and the wine list had some intersting wines by the glass.
We are at the outside terrace which has a view of the market entrance.
One small gripe, the chips were not up to the standard of the other dishes
Went to the stall on Borough Market. Very friendly and efficient service. I ordered the mixed (fish and prawns) wrap, and it was very tasty. The slight char and the balance of sauces was perfect.
Today’s brunch spot was at @Applebee’s Fish in the centre of Borough Market, London.
The atmosphere was cosy and quite busy.
The waiters were professional and friendly. They even catered to a visiting dog by giving him a bowl of water.
Seating options were inside with a mix of tall tables or low tables or outside under the gazeebo.
There was a great selection of fish dishes on the menu.
As we were seated, we were served some tasty Olives and a selection of bread with garlic butter and a homemade olive spread.
For our main dish we went for the
Luxury seafood platter (for two) which had a split lobster, scallops & tiger prawns, this was topped with garlic & chilli butter and served with a side of hand cut truffel chips and samphire.
The price of this was £125.
Our small table for two couldnt quite fit all of our food and drinks.
The main dish overall was a decent portion for two sharing and very tasty, the sauce really brought the fish flavours out.
The chips were not eaten as they smelled like they were fried in a funny smelling oil however, the samphire complimented the main meal very well as a side.
We also ordered some still bottled water and Lychee mocktails which were tasty and refreshing.
We went inside to use the toilets, there were two avaliable, one being a disabled toilet and abother close to the kitchen where a chef kindly directed me to because there was no clear sinage.
The toilet I used was failey clean however, there was half used toilet roll everywhere. There was about three rolls on the ledge which was a bit wet and one on top of the toilet tank cover. Mabye a checking system should be in place to ensure they are left presentable after some time. There was a dyson hand dryer avalaliable and some nice music playing from the soeakers in the ceiling.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely like to come back to try more from the menu.
Thank you for a lovley experience!

Good lunch , found it via google and read the reviews. Service was attentive and friendly. The mussels were great as a starter , plump flesh in a delightful white onion sauce. The fish and chips was good, batter was not oily , nice and crispy - the fish was well cooked: soft and flaky. Chips were good too , perhaps add a dash of vinegar for a more authentic feel. To end off the meal , had some desert - the creme brûlée was amazing , really nice and the taste lingered for a while after I had left the restaurant. I appreciated that a service charge was automatically included , as it saves me the hassle of calculating a tip. Overall it was a good experience and would visit again to try some other menu items.
Very tasty food. The sauce the seafood was cooked in was unbelievably tasty. The luxurious Seaford platter could have had some other seafood elements other than prawns, scallops and lobster for the price.
The creme brulèè was very good. Liked it better than the coconut cake.
