I was craving some ramen and decided to visit them for dinner.
What I had ?
Vegetarian ramen
What I liked the most ?
Freshly prepared ramen
What I thought?
Taste was simply average but very well priced
Visited on a Friday night. As expected there was a long queue but the line was managed efficiently and we were given a table after a 15 minute wait.
Service was nice and quick. We ordered the tonkotsu X and spicy yuzu.
When the ramen was served I was slightly disappointed that it wasn't as photogenic as I have hoped but regardless it was very delicious. The broth was the highlight of the dish. It was deep, flavourful and rich in umami. The spicy yuzu ramen is spicier than most "spicy" ramen that I have tried (not recommended for those who cannot take spice).
We will be back to try the other ramens on the menu.
Disclaimer: Went to the Kanada Ya in Angel, hence why the photos are a tad different.
Ramen is such a great comfort food. I had read that Kanada Ya had one of the best ramen in town, definitely jad to givd jf
Delicious ramen soup with mixed veggies and pork and egg. The soup is nice and thick. Perfect for a late winter evening. And the saki comes in a bottle within a larger bottle of hot water to keep it warm - a nice touch.
Proper ramen served here. Katakam-takam, tirik-mata-sa-sarap ramen that is not too oily, no overpowering spiciness and with broth that perfectly marries meat, vegetable and noodle in your mouth! Could do wagamama a huge favour by inviting them over and give them a crash course on how to do authentic ramen. Proper japanese beer to go with your ramen too! Needs to graduate from plywood seats though.
First time eating ramen and we loved it. No queues, the waitress was very nice and helped us a lot. We're thinking of trying another ramen restaurant but we hope to visit kanada ya again.
After hearing raving reviews about this place from ramen lovers, I have tried to eat here for about an year, but the long queues always send me to ippudo. Christmas and rain meant less than 5 minutes wait. I got the veggie ramen, original onigiri and calpis. The ramen was not spicy even after adding yuzu paste twice. The rice ball was bland. Calpis was a nice drink to try. I think the place is not for veggie ramen lovers and I would prefer ippudo.
Highly recommend this place especially if you're a ramen lover. Coming from New Zealand and trying all the different ramen there (not the best place to set a standard) this place had my favourite so far. Flavoursome, quick service and great atmosphere. Naruto got me into Ramen and I'm sure he'd be super impressed too. 5⭐️
Amazing ramen. That broth ahhhhhhhhh. Lip smackingly gorgeous. Noodles are cooked al dente. Karaage chicken for starter comes in a massive share-able portion - and are juicy and crispy and delicious. Green tea and black sesame soft serve for dessert. P.s. You can book at this branch so you don't have to queue outside. Win.
Kanada-Ya can never go wrong. Tried their truffle ramen today, and it was so good. Added the eggs as well and loved every bite of the dish. This place is holy grail for ramen lovers in London. Their pork broth is always mouth watering.
Lovely ramen bar that knows what it’s doing. We stopped in for lunch and had a lovely experience.
The broth was lovely with a great depth of flavour. There were some great side dishes that accompanied the ramen.
I had kabocha croquets which were lovely. They came with curry and home made takuan. It was so tasty.
Their ramen was great, very comforting and perfect for the cold weather. Servers were very attentive too. Must try!
I had the pleasure of dining at this ramen shop, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. David provided amazing service, making sure every aspect of our meal was perfect. Not only that, but the food was exceptional as well. The ramen was flavorful and satisfying, a true culinary delight. I can't recommend this place enough, thanks to David's outstanding service and the incredible food!!!
ありがとうございます!
The place was clean and the people there were incredibly nice. I liked how you can add extra toppings to enrich the ramen and the variety of choices they provide is really good. Only issue we had was that the fried chicken was slightly pink on the inside, which we weren't sure if it was the way it was cooked or if it was actually raw. Ramen was good, no complaints but also nothing too outstanding. Overall good experience.
Nice place and food is really great. However I really don’t appreciate the fact that we needed to pay 12,5% extra. I would rather tip if I wanted to, no need to push it tho.
Really good broth, and would go back. And I’m not a ramen fan!!
Had the chicken karage and gyoza too, these were ok - nothing amazing, solid good taste.
Everything in the ramen was excellent, and pulled together beautifully.
The ramen was good but I have had better in London. They also did not have many vegetarian options which was disappointing
Their ramen is always so tasty! Ramen was delicious, their service was also great. But the beer I ordered was lukewarm..🥲 and I couldn’t get Onigiri 🍙 , Because they said that they don’t have rice😭 I usually go to Angel or Oxford street ones, somehow those are better than this branch from my experiences with Kanada-Ya
I tried the Tonkotsu ramen 🍜 it was good! Loved the broth. Their karaage tasted like Japan’s fried chicken. Recommend!
Went Monday evening, all tables filled including us but nobody waiting for seats. I had the abura soba, super tasty, minimum broth but had enough flavour from other toppings. While waiting the chef had made a complimentary small side dish for each table. But I don’t think there’s enough ‘service’ to be having a charge especially when the paying system is online but you’ll have to ask the waiter for the option to remove if you choose to do so
