Absolutely delicious food and even an above and beyond homely service.
Pros:
Great location - just behind the london eye
Great prices - £20 quids will feed you for long
Great food and service- one of the oldest restaurants in london and has been serving for two generations. Authentic cuisine and very humble owner.
Cons: closes a little early at night.
Must try:
Baklava
Mousakka (Both veg and non-veg!)
Chicken Shish kebab
Great food, fresh ingredient, helpful staff, Mario was a Unique character.
Shisha is good but overpriced.
Location is great, central but hidden and calm.

On this evening we were in the area for a late night film, and decided to hit up a nearby spot for a spot of dinner. Troia popped up in the search with a winning combination of positive reviews and low pricing. And so it was. Located in South Bank and offering casual Mediterranean, Troia is a step up from the usual chain/ touristy eating. We ordered the London Set Meze (£13 p/p) which gave us a cornucopia of many of their treats. We were wowed by the sheer quantity of food, and almost didn’t expect two rounds of food. Eleven different dishes made for a crowded table: hummus, casseroles, kofte, dips, falafels; we sure didn’t leave hungry either. Service was on the slow(er) side compared to other Med places we’ve been to, but the quality was reasonable and the sheer variety was entertaining. I may not have had any individual favourites from the menu but an all round happy meal.
Great food with great service and delight for vegetarian and non vegetarians with superb Mediterranean food .A must try if you are around with family and friends towards Westminster
A very good Mediterranean restaurant located close to the Houses of Parliament. The food we ordered was cooked to perfection and staff were very kind and sweet. An absolute must try!
Awesome authentic turkish food in one of the busiest tourist areas but still a hidden gem. Great friendly service and hood portions. A must visit for amy mideast food lovers
This is one of the hidden gems. Found this place in 2010 when I was working in waterloo. Not a very big place but ambience gives you the feel of middle eastern restaurants. Absolutely loved their food the sheesh kebab was one of my favourite.
Probably my favourite place to eat in the world. I have traveled a bit in my life and stumbled across this place in late 2008. What a great find, the food, my god, the food. I had halloumi here the first time and it is now a regular treat in my day to day life, the kofte is beyond perfect, lamb skewers, sublime. I had the meze platter first time I was there and HIGHLY recommend it for anyone going there the first time to find out what you like. Order that and I guarantee it won't be the last time you visit this quaint, warm and amazing restaurant. Thank you to the owners for showing me new foods and tastes I didn't know we're out there.
Tasty but slightly overpriced. It might be the sitting right next to the London Eye but i felt the selection of meze turned out to be quite dear. I picked 7 of them and that was just about enough for two people, portions are very tiny. Having said that, most things seem freshly prepared and service was friendly and attentive. I'd eventually go back, perhaps trying a main course from the grill instead. Thumb up.
Very friendly and accommodating staff, reasonable prices, great food, especially if you are after REAL KEBABS! Plenty of other delicious food to choose from. Ideal for vegetarians too! Would return
A meal to remember, and a lovely atmosphere. Service was exemplary, and the food delicious. A pleasure dining here. Salmon was melt in the mouth. The prawn and brie entrees were both tasty. The lamb shank was great, note that it is a big serve. The adana kebab was another excellent dish.
Would not hesitate to recommend, and we will return.
We ordered the lamb kebabs, the baked brie and the calamari.
The lamb was fantastic, though the sides (rice and salad) were relatively plain. The baked brie was good but overpriced for the amount received.
The absolute most stellar food for both value and price though was the calamari. Fantastic taste and mouthfeel, and great price for how much food was included!
Highly recommended .
Really great experience .. I was trying the fish and chips… and salmon fillet… very tasty …
The stuff was super good… tahmid was very friendly… had a great conversation with him …
Shamsi was very friendly as well ..
I would love to come for grill and charcoal items..
stuff was recommending as well…
Again thanks tahmid for nice coffee..
My gf and I were visiting from Canada. Typical London prices… it’s in a touristy area near The Eye, so expect to pay a tad more accordingly. Lasagna was really good. 3 Dips were great. Service was fast and friendly. We had drinks here (added to our average price pp)
I have not visited London in 25 years, but was pleasantly surprised by the choice of restaurants. Staying nearby, I tried Troia Southbank one night with companions. All three of us had a pasta dish which was nicely prepared and tasted delicious. Service friendly and very fast.
I went back later in the week with another friend. Two different lamb entrees this time. They were superb. Everything was prepared with spices and perfectly cooked. The best lamb I have ever had anywhere!
On my last night in Westminster, I returned for a third time and again was not disappointed. Waitstaff pleasant and attentive.
I ate outside the last two times which is pleasantly situated on Belvedere Road.
I will look forward to my next visit to London in order to return to this fine restaurant.
Fantastic place and so handy. It is just across from the Premier Inn County Hall and the London Eye. The inside restaurant is lovely and also has a great outdoor seating area. The food is superb and caters for a wide range of tastes. The staff are very attentive, both the manager and staff are great . Go there you won't be disappointed !
We came for the kebabs, but stayed for the baklava. My Turkish cousin was convinced that we wouldn't get good baklava here, but she was quickly proven wrong. Now she's saying it's the best in London. All around good food and great service as this empty plate attests
I stumbled across this place yesterday wandering around Southbank. This place is such a gem! It has a lovely atmosphere and the service was awesome. The food were insanely great too. I got the set London Set Meze with a friend, and seeing how we're both big eaters, we were stuffed!
Chanced upon this place as it was open just a tad later than neighboring establishments. The burger was generous, with chunky fries, and the moussaka delicious. Service was prompt and delivered with good humour. Perfect for a late dinner after work.
So thankful for vegan options!
Place is beautiful, quiet and food is delicious
