An intimate setting, offering an array of delicious tapas. The warm goat cheese and aubergine dish was definitely the star, but the more traditional Gambas Pil Pil, patatas bravas and peppers were also spot on. It may not be as good as Barrafina in terms of innovating it's plates, but it's flavours are authentic, the waiters were friendly, and the experience wasn't disappointing

Very good spanish restaurant. Starting with the staff who are incredible nice, smiley and helpful. The food is soooo good. The tortilla is slightly dry but the ibericos and the croquetas are delicious. The huevos rotos are not exactly like how they're usually done in Spain but still very tasty. Definitely a must try!

I love surprises! And surprises that involve food are the best :P I stumbled upon this place by chance as the restaurant I initially wanted to visit didn’t have any spaces and I’m glad they did not. It was a sunny day and the weather in London was fantastic, for a change. It looked quite dark from the outside but once we went inside, the dining area was brightly lit up thanks to the glass ceiling. I love the decor of this place. It’s cosy, welcoming, homey and you just want to have a chilled out time with your friends- talking, laughing and eating! My friend had his Nikon with him and took most of these photos (all the best ones are by him- thank you Relish aka Rich Ellis! :D)

The first time I had Gazpacho was in Malaga, Spain. The idea of a cold vegetable soup was quite grotesque but one spoon of that and I’ve never looked back. So when I saw this as a starter on my second visit to Tapas Brindisa, I decided to order it and see whether it compared to the one I had at Toro in Malaga. Suffice to say, I was trying to get the very last drop of this soup and I would have happily had another bowl or two of the same.

I love tapas and I’ve already said it a million times! If you’re not someone who likes sharing food then this place isn’t for you. The idea is each person orders at least 2 dishes off the menu and everyone shares everything. The dishes arrive as they are prepared in the live open kitchen at the back. Since we were seated right next to the kitchen on the high stools, we had a perfect view of all the action.

The seared tuna was cooked to perfection. My teeth just sunk into the silky soft meat with the sauce and garnish as the perfect accompaniment. No Spanish feast is complete without a portion of prawns. This dish is by far the best version of Gambas I’ve had. Thank God someone had the sense to peel the prawns so we weren’t stuck trying to peel the prawns and just focused on eating and swooning in delight. The side order of bread came handy as we dunked it in the chilli garlic oil. This was just the beginning. Four grown adults who were too busy eating and loving the food than talk! That’s when you know the food is fantastic.

Now ox cheeks aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but hey! I like pushing my boundaries when it comes to food :P ha ha Never realised how tender the meat is. Fat pieces of garlic and sweet potato mash was all this dish needed- nothing more and nothing less.

My friend devoured the Tortilla and this is one guy who’s always hungry AFTER you’ve had a meal. He gave it a double thumbs up! That means you need to order it folks.

The meatball dish was very aesthetically prepared. Loved the crispy strips of potato with a large juicy meatball right in the middle. I was told it was like an Easter egg- the goat’s cheese stuffing is a pleasant surprise!

Anyone who’s a fan of chicken has to order the house specialty of corn fed chicken leg. The chicken was juicy and full of flavour. The spinach puree gave it a earthy flavour where as tomato and hazelnut dressing kept the dish fresh. The whole combination worked wonders!

I just had a look at the menu and the lamb steak is not on the menu any more…. WHYYYYYYYY!?!!? ;( And those mushrooms….mmm yum! This dish should be brought back on popular demand unless you can up this one some how with another one!

Having completely annihilated our stomachs with this mind boggling variety of food- I didn’t think I’d have space for dessert BUT I did! No surprises there :P

My friend ordered the Chocolate Paradise where I went for their homemade chocolate ice cream. When I saw the chocolate paradise, I was full of envy!! If only I’d ordered that instead of the ice cream. Don’t get me wrong, the ice cream was one of the best I’ve had but hey you can’t compare the two. This is why I was determined to order it on my second visit to Tapa Brindisa. However, I was so disappointed when I ordered it. It was not only a visibly smaller portion to the one my friend had but the ice cream had half melted. I neither had the heart to send it back nor the will to take the photo. I kinda felt let down…. :(

Other than that, the dinner from start to finish was FAAAAAN-TASTIC!! Every single bite, texture, smell, taste was unique. The meal is not on the cheap side but neither is it too expensive. It is just right! Plus for the quality of food and the experience, it’s worth every pound :) (even though I was slightly let down by the dessert on my second trip)

And my friend who always ends up at McDonald’s after a meal- well he went straight home and slept happy and satisfied.

Now, I’m hoping by now that you all realise that I love food. But, I’m sure you can all relate when I say this, one of the hardest things to do when you first try a restaurant, is ordering a dish – I was also super hungry, so that didn’t help.

You try to set up a deal with the person you’re with, “you order this, and I’ll order this and we’ll split”…so, why go to all of this hassle when you can pop in to a tapas restaurant. Small snapshots of meals that you can all try and share, a real social way to eat food. I decided to try out the Soho branch of Tapas Brindisa the other day, and loved my life…

The soho branch is just off of Carnaby Street, a pretty busy location, and I actually went on a weekday at about 2 something – considering the time and day, it was actually pretty busy. When you walked in the restaurant felt light and airy with an open plan kitchen at the back, and bar on the left as you walk in. They used light wood, and sky lights to create an open feel – but the general size of the restaurant meant that it naturally had a bit of an intimate feel. Due to the volume of bums-on-seats, we ended up sitting towards the back of the restaurants on the high seats, which in general is problematic for me because I’m a shorty, but I generally felt comfortable.

The menu does offer other dishes that aren’t on the “tapas plates” selection, but when in Rome Spain. The tapas section of the menu is split into four categories; soup and salads, fish, vegetarian, and meat. We decided to order a few from each section to get a feel for the place, we ordered:

Watermelon and Mojama salad, with mint and almond dressing

Patatas Bravas; fried potatoes with spicy catalan sauce

Deep friend Monte Enebro; goats cheese with orange blossom honey

Grilled smoked chorizo on toast, with rocket and piquillo pepper

The Meat Ball; rump steal and Iberico pork morcilla meat ball stuff with monteenebro goat’s cheese

Pave Rump Steak, with Foie Poele and sauteed girolles

Gordal Olives with orange and oregano

Pan de Pincel

Okay, so we got a little excited, but if you could experience the buzz and the smell of the place, you probably would have gone a little over board as well. Due to the absolute beast of dishes that we did order, the kitchen and waiting staff really timed it all perfectly – no dish was left to get cold, and we weren’t waiting empty handed either – just absolute perfect communication, which doesn’t seem to happen that often, unfortunately.

So the first dish to come was the watermelon and mojama salad, it initially looked pretty minuscule, but as we started tucking into each small cube of watermelon, we realised that it was both refreshing and filling. The mojama was super over powering, and I did end up sort of scraping it off myself – but that says more about my lack of love towards seafood, than it does the food. It was nice to have a tender bite of watermelon, with the fresh aftertaste of the mint between each course.

The patatas bravas, or posh chips – nothing too crazy to describe here, other than some diced potatoes served with a spicy sauce. Really nicely cooked; crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside – and an absolute gargantuan portion, I believe we didn’t actually get the chance to finish it. The chorizo on toast was the next to come along, the chorizo was super fresh and still had that raw sort of taste and texture to it, which I absolutely adore. The chorizo itself wasn’t too spicy, but the piquillo pepper added just a subtle undertone of sweetness, which was needed to compensate for the bitter taste of rocket. Rocket is totally over rated, am I right?

My oh my, the meatball. When it did arrive on our table, it did literally look a little crazy, as it is just a huge ball of mince meat drizzled in tomato sauce. But, when you cut in to it, you can see the pink of the mince and that beautiful white gooey goat’s cheese centre. This wasn’t my favourite dish out of all of the one’s I tried, simply because the meat to cheese ratio was a little more favouring on the meat’s side. As well as the fact that the mince was just a teeny weeny bit too pink for my liking – but, it was still absolutely tender, juicy, and really well seasoned. Again, considering timing is everything with this dish, we couldn’t complain.

Now, when I initially wrote this review I genuinely forgot this dish, but it was the staple dish that both myself and my guest loved – the rump steak. The steak was a portion size reminiscent of those at Flat Iron, which is actually the perfect size because you don’t want to over indulge in one dish too much. It was pink in the middle, and seasoned to absolute perfection on the outside. The fatty parts of the liver, were sweet, and considering it was my first time trying were very moreish. Not a lot to say about this dish, but sometimes simple dishes are the best.

The deep fried goat’s cheese – now for some reason I genuinely thought it was going to be coated in bread crumbs and fried, this was just the vision I was having. I was wrong. It literally was a cross section of goat’s cheese deep fried, and what I thought was oil and grease, was actually honey. And, to top off that sweetfest, it also had (what I thought) was oven baked beetroot sprinkled on top. You had your earthy, and sweet tastes combined, with the crunch and creamy texture of the crisps and cheese. Seriously, I probably could have ordered 3 plates of this and been on my way.

The staff are super friendly, and this place is really warm and inviting, it’s somewhere that I genuinely believe you should try if you want to get more of an authentic feel, than say somewhere like La Tasca. It is slightly more on the pricey side, and we sort of ended up spending about £30 each, but if you’re looking to treat yourself guys, it’s an amazing choice. They do have other branches, and I will be having a tapas tour, you can be sure of that.

Tapas Brindisa is part of the Brindisa group, supplier of Spanish produce in the UK. You might have seen them in Borough Market or tried their chorizo and peppers sandwich which covets envious looks from other shoppers when you wander around the market blissfully chomping away.

Must have dishes: Crispy ham croquetas, Pan con tomato which is dripping with olive oil and lightly smeared tomatoes - simple yet perfect, Pulpo a la gallega - Octopus with potatoes which was lovely.

Oh and it's one those very convienent places that's open all day all the time. And the bill was about 25£ each.

We went for some tapas and drinks on a Monday night. We must have gotten there at the busiest time, but we got seated at the bar which was not bad. The wait staff seemed to be stretched a bit thin, but we got everything we asked for. The Spanish tortilla was tasty (and very filling) and the razor clams were delicious as well. Drinks were fine.

Have been coming here for 8 years. The best garlic prawns I've had in London. Nice atmosphere. They keep on changing the cocktails card, but you can always find something to your liking.

Fantastic. I am Spanish and not only the food and drinks, but the vibe of the staff made me feel like I was back in Spain. Perfect for a session of tapas and laughs. Even though it was a very busy night, that was not reflected on the service or the food. Thanks guys, specially Giovanni and Virginia, but everyone else too. You were great, we will come back soon.

Really enjoyed our time here, the food came out really quickly and we were all impressed. I was overjoyed to see chipirones on the menu as I feel these are really hard to come by in Spanish restaurants in the UK and are my favourite! Would absolutely recommend.

Went there with 3 Spanish friends and loved the food. Authentic and tasty. Service could improve in speed and the meat for the filete encebollado could be of better quality (it was not soft enough). I still give it 5 stars because I really liked everything else and it made me feel at home

I booked in advance for table of two, but unfortunately had to postpone my reservation. The restaurant was happy to accommodate. We had a fabulous time here as our first visit, our waiter - Erik - showed us great hospitality and recommended delicious food. He was very professional and was patient with our questions. We ordered all his recommendations and I have to say, it was amazing. We will definitely be visiting again, thanks to Erik and staff to making us feel welcomed!

The food has been very good, especially the black risotto, the potatoes with eggs and ham (huevos rotos) and the shrimps! The sangria is a bit weak in alcohol and taste for the price but otherwise the place is very nice and friendly and the service is quick!

Went to this tapas bar for pre-theatre drink and food. Really loved it! Staff were lovely and helpful. We ordered the chorizo, chicken thighs and Aubergine balls and they were all delicious. Highly recommend the chicken thighs! We were well looked after and not rushed at all, despite the quick and attentive service. Will definitely return.

We celebrated birthday here and it was really pleasant experience. The wine was good, tapases were are delicious. We paid 55£ for bottle of wine and 3 different tapases, what is fair enough.
