Been here with colleagues for dinner. They have very good steaks and amazing choice of American whisky. I do prefer scotch, but I was impressed. Steak and red wine were very good as well, great succulent medium rare rib eye. And for the Square Mile it is reasonably priced.
Went there for dinner one night. Food was pretty good, service was attentive. I like the retro looking decor inside, made me feel like I was in an old Hollywood movie. The only issue I had was the sound inside seemed to be reverberating off the walls. Even though it wasn't full, it was still so noisy! You wouldn't be able to hear yourself talk if it was full.
what a breakfast!
amazing coffee (drip coffee) amazing full english spread. Best part was the maple bacon slab - best bacon i have ever eaten
Very well priced brunch place in the middle of soho. £24 for two brunches and two coffees. The banana pancakes were to die for. And the coffee was good.
Best brunch ever ! The royal poached eggs are delicious ! And the caramelized banana pancake is a must !
Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a brunch or early lunch to my friends ❤
We didn't have a reservation but managed to get a table for brunch in the 'library' area downstairs. I don't know why, but I didn't have high hopes for the food based on the dim lighting and vaguely American theme and how small it looked on the plate, but my pulled pork hashes with poached eggs were delicious (I also ordered a side of avocado). Soft melty pulled pork patties coated in a crispy panko breadcrumb skin, as with croquettes that were surprisingly filling. We also ordered the popcorn chicken which had a lot of flavour, but which we unfortunately decided to share; really we should have ordered more. We must have been lucky as we had some very attentive and friendly service. Their juices were only ok though and also my friend found her pancakes a bit of a disappointment so it looks like this is a place to stick with the savoury.
Sometimes you just need some hearty comfort food, and I found exactly that recently at Jackson + Rye, in the City. It opened a few months ago, with other locations in Soho, Chiswick, Kingston, Richmond and Guildford. The City-located restaurant is on Old Jewry, right in the heart of the financial district. Tim and I visited on a Tuesday evening and the bar was incredibly busy – I can see this being a very popular post-work haunt for people working nearby. But you should note that many of said people can be rather noisy, particular en masse! So this probably isn’t the place to go for a quiet romantic meal – expect a lot of buzz and lively atmosphere.
I was hoping to grab brunch at the famous The Breakfast Club in Soho, but on a rainy Tuesday morning, after waiting in a queue for an hour and being told I'd have to wait at least another hour, I gave up and walked down the road to find this gem.
What I was looking forward to at The Breakfast Club was the huervos rancheros, and I was thrilled to see that Jackson + Rye had pretty much the exact same item on their menu.
The service was quite slow and not the friendliest but it wasn't awful.
My coffee was pleasant and I was pleased to be given a large bottle of tap water upon being seated.
The actual breakfast was absolutely delicious and I can't imagine how TBC could have topped it.
I'd definitely recommend this place for breakfast if you're not in a rush.

Jackson + Rye is great American style diner in the heart of Soho. Now, having been someone who actually lived in America, this is not what an American diner is like in any way shape or form. But I do appreciate their effort and to be honest, Jackson + Rye is nicer than most diners in America. I’ve been there a few times before for a weekday lunch (actually with Harry Style’s sister. She looks exactly like him… or really, he looks exactly like her.)
Breakfast/brunch is a beautiful thing. It's the time of day when everything starts anew but most importantly, that daily calorie count. For another day, you get to allocate those precious 2,000/2,500 cals as you see fit without guilt according to some scientist much smarter than I. But today, I got a bit too excited...probably 2,000 cals too excited...but a Jackson and Rye brunch will do that to ya.
Bringing a touch of classic New York to the heart of Soho, its Big Apple inspiration extends from the bristro decor to its beautiful brunch menu which is as expansive as the Atlantic covering classics from eggs through to fried chicken and touching everything in between.
Today, we came prepared (and by prepared, I mean hungry) starting with a classic eggs royale and some buttermilk fried chicken served with sweet potato chips. Oh and a side order of mac and cheese; because obviously we needed more food between the two of us.
The food here is decent and always hits the spot. Decent portions, decent value for money and tasty to boot. The eggs royale was great highlighted by an egg poached to perfection and giving the term "eggporn" a whole different meaning. The fried chicken, at one time my favourite in London, was still fantastic and among the better ones around.
Following mains, our sweettooths were crying out for attention and they got it in the form of blueberry pancakes with bacon (totally a dessert) and a peanut butter fudge smores, which was quite the highlight.
Toasted marshmallow served on top of biscuit brittle with a side of chocolate fudge, it was an excellent end to a hearty meal which left me in need of a bed and a lie down.
So 2 years after opening and an expansion to another branch later, Jackson and Rye is still as good as I remember and remains one of my favoured brunch spots in the city. The food is good, decor is beautiful and the vibe is always buzzing. Good times to be had here!

Great little spot for breakfast, I enjoyed it but everything seemed a bit overpriced, even for London. Mimosa was good, but a little heavy on the orange juice. I had the farmers breakfast, and it was a good amount of food, and very tasty. Bacon was a bit too fatty for my tastes though. My partner had hot tea and a salad, and he liked it well, although it seemed a bit small. Service was great though and I would come back again.
The place is nice, food is not really expensive but not amazing. For breakfast is good. You can find good pancakes with bacon, syrup or strawberry. The girl who took our order was supper nice, also the guy at the bar.
Been here several times for lunch and dinner, today was our first time visit for breakfast- and were very happy! The place was buzzing and the service super friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic. The menu has so many options- all sounds delicious. Overall a great morning out. We will definitely be back !
Loved it. TARDIS, looks small on the outside but huge inside. I had breakfast and it was great food and great value for money.
Eclectic crowd of diners gives the restaurant a fabulous vibe.
The service is great, always with a smile. This really was a great find in Soho and I can't recommend it for breakfast enough.
Corn dogs, BBQ ribs, bloody Mary heaven! Great atmosphere. Didn't have to wait long for a table. Just some of the cocktails are too small for how delicious they are.
The food here is good for brunch. Lunch does need a bit of improvement.
American diner style interior with banquette seating upstairs and downstairs. When its cold I would highly recommend not sitting in the front as it gets freezing cold in that part. Customers will be coming in and out the customers always keep the door open.
Service is quite good. Staff are friendly and most of the time I have felt looked after.
Prices are on the average/higher price for the area.
Amazing brunch with a quirky twist. Hidden Gem just off Oxford Street, cheaper than you'd think, really quick service and real top quality food. Great service and staff were a delight.
Great place with river view. Friendly staff - one is doing magic 😁 food taste and well present. Good place for meeting with friends and also for families with kids.
Great food and service. Affordable prices for london. Spent around £30 for a steak, fries and sauce.
Wonderful food, though everything took a very long time so plan for an extended stay.
Full bar, good cocktails, beautiful atmosphere.
