My favourite place for burgers in London! Usually I never eat vegetarian burgers but the falafel burger at gbk is mindblowing! And the Oreo milkshake is great too.
When you are a veggie, getting a variety of Burgers can be quite a daunting task.
During a leisurely stroll around Portobello on a Sunday morning, we happen to bump into this great Burger joint.
What made it even better was that they had 3 types of veg burgers and each one was better than the other.
The best was Billy the Kid which had a patty of Goat Cheese and grilled aubergine.
Falafal was a little bland but nothing that spicy sauce on the side cannot help.
Original Veggie was also very good.
If you are very hungry, go for the large size.
Choose to order sides only if you are very very hungry because the burger itself will satiate your hunger pangs.
What we loved: The presentation was impeccable, placing an order was super simple and the waiting staff was very accommodating.
Loved our little lunch here.
Would go again for sure when in Portobello.
Great job, guys...
The staff is very friendly. It's a great place to go for a quick bite to eat. The chicken satay is my favourite. I also love their thin chips. Also, food is affordable and the quality is good - even though it's a bit like fast food, it doesn't make you feel like you've just eaten something that you shouldn't have. I wouldn't order the salads - they're not very good and they seem a bit overpriced to me.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen, or GBK for short, is a trendy hamburger joint. The first time I visited one of their several outlets was during a short holiday in London during December, just before Christmas. I happened to be near Bayswater during lunchtime and so hopped into the outlet on Westbourne Grove. The thing that instantly caught my eye was the decor inside - simple, clean, yet warm and casual, inviting you to sit down and relish that burger you get your hands around.
I informed my waiter that this was my first visit to the UK and to a GBK, and he explained to me the process of how they go about taking orders here. He also told me about a cool app for my smartphone they have that can be downloaded for free from the app store. After going through the menu, I was torn between the wild boar and the Wellington, and I finally decided to go with the Wellington. While waiting, the staff directed my attention to a huge sack of groundnuts that I could scoop out using a cup and eat (it's free, and a great way to kill time while alone or in a group).
The Wellington turned out to be quite good. I'd asked for it to be cooked medium, which it was, and the meat still had quite bit of juice left in it. The horseradish, mayo, and mushroom all added to the flavour, and in the end, this burger turned out to be absolutely satisfying and kept me going until dinner time.
Lovely atmosphere and quiet at lunch times. And when the milkshake flavor we ordered to share was out of stock, waiter happily offered a replacement and an extra coke. Great service.

Thick patties, succulent, tasty. Definitely gourmet burger, expect it isn't as cheap as the other fastfood burger. Absolutely one of the best burgers in town. Service is a bit slow, I guess they do more deliveries than attending to customers dining in.
The burger was nice the salad was great 🙆🏻♀️ I would come back to eat again
Clean place
Friendly staff
Reasonable prices

Surprisingly good burgers! Thank you for being open later! Good for a late night meal :)
Really friendly people at GBK.
The buns are cross and the burger habe a good taste.
The skinny fries are funny.
Recommendation.
Good service and delicious burgers. The sweet potato fries side is a must try
Pretty much our office canteen and i cannot really complain as the food and the service is pretty good.
You get seated ands get a menu then got the the counter and order and pay. I have had a fair number of different options and they serve a wider range of food than just burgers, though to be fair the office do tend to go burger.
The lunch menu is pretty good and though the burger are smaller than the standard one they are excellent and fill me up every time.
Not expensive either so all round good value for money. Also quick turn around so fitting the visit into an office lunch is non stress-full.
Good burgers, just a bit loud and could be cleaner. Thin fries are oddly thin, take the normal ones.
A perfect place to have burgers. Very fast service, friendly staff and delicious food. They have amazing sauces as well. The place is less than ten minutes walk from the Kensington Gardens, therefore we like to order takeaway food and bring to the park for a picnic.
