As a budding Indian fine dining establishment, Matsya is out to impress with its fully Halal food menu, and impress it does in more ways than one. Where it really caught our attention though, was the emphatic way in which it achieved its objective of presenting traditional dishes, albeit with a modern twist, from various regions of India that you simply will not find in London now, or at any other time in the past. This is fine dining in the heart of Mayfair; so expect prices to reflect both its location and the meticulous effort and planning put in overall. One of my favorites! Food, service and ambience are all very good. Been here a handful of times so I can comfortably comment on the consistency with respect to both food and service! Yes, it’s on the pricier side for their teeny tiny portions they have but it being Mayfair and the sky high commercial rents that the neighborhood demands and all that...ah well. It is a seafood-heavy menu but as someone who doesn’t eat seafood, I quite like everything else that I’ve tried on the menu. So I’d imagine that their signature seafood dishes would be incredible. Special call out to their tandoori chicken kebab, garlic naan and gulab jamun. A major plus point thus far is the ease of getting a reservation here on OpenTable, even at a moment’s notice!
