An affordable Malaysian restaurant located near Paddington which serves halal dishes and dim sum. We ordered kway teow, lemongrass chicken baos and an array of dim sums. The kway teow lacked wok hei and a smokey flavour which was slightly disappointing. It also came with carrots and cabbage which was an interesting addition but you can have these removed. The food came out quickly and portion sizes are large. The highlight was the lemongrass chicken which was well seasoned and flavourful. Dim sum also had big pieces of prawn inside which was great. Would recommend for a quick and easy meal

Located down a flight of stairs, this delicious Malaysian restaurant offers plenty of vegetarian options. The portions were quite large for the price which I was pleased with after a long day of travel. The veg dim sum was steaming hot, indicating that it is clearly handmade on site. I had the veggie udon and my partner enjoyed the veggie laksa. Each dish had plenty of beautifully prepared, fresh vegetables as well as both egg and tofu. I hope to be back when I'm in London next. Highly recommend for vegetarians

Bonda Kitchen in Paddington specializes in Malaysian food hence its Halal dim sum offerings. What makes their dim sum good is that it does not contain lard which causes bloating and indigestion in my case. The dim sum offerings were a little different and unique like the duck shao mai which we ordered. Also ordered roast duck with rice and some blue coloured Smurf crab and prawn dumplings. The crab and prawn dumplings were pretty much how I expected them to be, the duck shao mai was a bit different to how I expected it to be. Shao Mai filling is usually minced meat mixed with some flour but the duck shao mai was literally chunk of pulled duck meat which made it quite meaty and a little dry. Last but not least was the roast duck which turned out to be sliced pieces of aromatic duck served with rice and not roast duck. Anyway, the duck was quite dry that I felt that it was either left over duck that was refried or duck fried twice as the meat was literally quite crispy and dark brown. In a way it reminded me of Indonesian smashed duck. To summarize, I felt that the dim sums fared better.

We visited recently while in London. The restaurant in the basement, is small but very clean and functional. Service was also good. We ordered a couple of dishes, including nasi lemak( beef and chicken), nasi ayam, char kueteaw, another noodle dish, and teh tariks (Chai lattes). The char kueteaw and nasi lemak were really good, while the other dishes were ok.

Delicious & Authentic Malaysian food in a small home style restaurant. The Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Crab Soup were so good, I was transported back to childhood! The Cheung Fun we’re slightly too thick but I’m still leaving 5 stars as everything else was on point. Will be back as it’s worth the price & the service was fast and good.

I came here for lunch as a family of four. We decided to order Duck bao buns, Veggie Laksa, Nasi Lemak, and Fruit Sago. Duck bao buns was delicious overall. The bun was soft and light while the duck is a bit chewy but it’s fine. All veggies complementing the bun were refreshing and the sauce was nice. I would recommend you to try it if you happen to visit this place. Veggie Laksa was very good. The broth was vibrant and thick with a refreshing sour flavor in it. I did a bit hack by dipping the bun into the broth as it was taste amazing. Another stuff I did was putting some Laksa spicy sauce with the duck bun and it was tasty. Nasi Lemak could be bettee. The rice is not that flavorful but you can taste the coconut in there. Need to eat the rice with chicken, salted anchovies all at once to get a nice flavor of the dish. The sambal was quite a lot though. We closed our meals with fruit sago in which there were jackfruits, mango and basil seeds. The dish was served with evaporated milk. The surprising part of this dessert is that it was served warm. I would recommend to share with friends if you order this.

Entrance is down a set of stairs, if you didn't know it was there, you would easily miss the restaurant. Very clean but comfortable. Lovely hand painted murals on the walls. Creative, beautiful and above all tasty dishes. We went here looking for halal dimsum and we were not let down. The food was brilliant. As they had a seafood dimsum platter, it would have been nice to have a carnivore dimsum platter. I would have tried more food but we were possibly a bit full from our earlier meal.

I had not been here for a couple of years. Easy to miss as you have to navigate to a basement to access. They have spruced up the interior and given it a fresher look. Service was quick. I ordered a prawn CKT noodle meal. Good quality prawns. However despite the basement location and basic interior… this is NOT a cheap eat. Spent just under £15 for 1 dish with no drinks.

Dim sum were ok but not great. However laksa and nasi lemak were very good and authentic Laksa had great coconut flavour and enough spice to give you a kick. Meatball were delicious Nasi Lemak was also very good. Chicken was not too dry and sambal was spicy enough Overall great little place

Was looking for a halal restaurant that was something other than Indian or Turkish and stumbled across this on Google. Absolutely 10/10. All the dishes were extremely tasty, freshly cooked and the service was fast. Slightly more varied menu than some Malaysian places - with dumplings and bao buns on offer. Highly recommended and I will definitely visit again.
