Went for a night out with some friends. Had the pulled pork nachos which were lovely for just under £10 we had a full dinner plate which easily fed 3. Great atmosphere, great drink and great food

This place has been my local for over three years, I still go there during the weekend even if I moved to Harringay. I love the staff, the owner and the manager are good friends of mine. But, the failure in the kitchen, even with the new menu, can't be overlooked. The drinks are affordable and they know how to make the basic cocktails, but the food is something that should be ordered only if you have no other options or are too lazy to go somewhere else and come back. It is too expensive and the preparation kill the quality of the ingredients. At times it gets better, but some of the staff there don't know how to cook.
UPDATE: I went yesterday night and part of the staff in the kitchen has changed. I tryed the sliders and things seem to have improved.
Nice and dark atmosphere. Still a rock bar, although I can't say if the music is any different compare to years ago.
A little empty the past few times I've been.
Didn't eat anything but they now have Yard Sale deliver pizza to the place which is a great idea.
This is a really cool pub. Really east to get to from Holloway Road station and the drinks are cheap!
Sometimes they have events on the support bands, such as a mercy pop up.
The decor is really cool and modern with an awesome sound track!
Came early Friday 21st Oct, started quiet, love the decor, slowly got busier before we left around half 7, seemed like a nice crowd, lady behind the bar was great, very welcoming, pool tables and foosball at the back, decent toilets (men’s at least!)
Hopefully can get a food menu going again soon, otherwise pretty much my ideal bar!
A bit of a hidden gem. Although it's on the main road you don't get a proper feel for the enormity of the space inside from the front of the bar. It stretches back quite a way and has ample room inside.
The decor is great with loads of stuff from vintage to current Americana and it's open late to boot. The sound system is Martin Audio so sounds great especially when there are live bands playing.
The food has a veggie option but everything on the menu is great and especially good for the sharing platters.
Staff were respectful and toilets were kept clean. The place has other amenities like 3 pool tables and 1 table soccer. The space is big enough too. Additionally its in a very good location close to lots of places to eat.
Big red is open again with great prices and cool music! Definitely worth visiting, polite staff, American style bar with pools, clean, music is great too and beers start from £4.50!! We had a lovely time.
Always come for the pool tables and free foosball! Staff are friendly and pints are reasonably priced too
A proper dive bar... Great music, great crowd and great food. If your not a metalhead you are warned that this place is loud! Beer selection is good and always found the service to be spot on. As an ex Intrepid Fox man this place is my new place to be.
Lovely Manageress and Manager? Very kind to me and my Mother when we were upset yesterday. Amazing Venue so atmospheric, fab music-my record collection ☺ Reminds me of the American bars I visited many years ago.
