Eastern Palace

I have ordered from here quite a bit and have dined in about 3 times, even celebrated my birthday here twice.The people are very friendly and welcoming and make you feel very comfortable, they are happy to get you whatever you need. Most importantly in my experience, over the years the taste and quality of the food has remained consistent which is rare. These days restaurants and takeaways are hit and miss but Eastern palace food rarely disappoints. Also when eating in or ordering a takeaway they are very fast at getting your food to you nice and hot and they have never messed any of my orders. Only negative is the price of a bottle, they charged more than double what you would pay in a supermarket/off licence but times are hard so I understand.

The Best Chinese ive ever had, been eating from Eastern palace for just over a year now, food is always great, piping hot, great portion sizes, tried alot of dishes , everything is top notch, great staff too , cant recomend this place highly enough. drooling just thinking about it! can't wait to order again! thank you! This place is a mixed bag for me. As you can see I have ordered from here a few times. My favourite spicy dish is the roast duck and green pepper in black bean sauce which gets a five star (around £6). Luckily it was the first thing I ordered and that's why I returned. Other dishes I have tried would get a 1 star unfortunately so I was going to write a separate review and upload separate pictures for that but I will do it here as Google doesn't allow multiple reviews. I would avoid the shredded crispy beef which wasn't crispy and full of too much batter and the Kung po chilli chicken was a disappointment (around £6 a portion each). Both of these dishes were overly sweet and vinegary. I can't remember the lamb and veg dish I ordered but it was decent not bad but not too nice either. What doesn't help is if you ask the elderly lady for recommendations she gets irritated. I ordered the special fried rice and would prefer a lighter fried rice rather than the dark chewy soy sauce type here or next time will order plain rice. The other delicious star item for me is the freshly fried banana fritters and the perfect sugar syrup it comes with (around £3). Very delicious.

I have been going to this restaurant since the 80's as a child. Now take my children who love it as much as I do. My mother was in the catering business, so we have always be critical of dishes. The food is always appetising fresh and flavorful as standard. (NOT greasy and sloppy)😍 An amazing family run restaurant who always welcomes customers warmly. In my opinion this has effortlessly set the bench mark in Chinese Cuisine. My favourite dishes are egg fried rice and salt and pepper squid.😋 Dry red ribs with lemon juice.😋 Also lemon chicken.😋 Enjoy 🤗💯 Regards Big Paul😎

Very lucky to reside just in the delivery zone. Food is great the 2 times I've ordered from here. Some dishes generally less oily than typical chinese takeaways. Excellent sweet and sour pork HK style. Very decent team too. Accidentally gave an extra 10 pounds to the guy delivering (notes were stuck together) and he kindly returned this with a smile. Would order from here again anytime I have a craving. Thank you.
