I am a big fan of Italian cuisine, and I always appreciate an establishment that can get it right. Recently, I dined at this restaurant, which has a nice market-style feel to it, and I have to say that what I ordered was superb in taste and appearance. I ordered the "Inferno" pizza; the pizzas are cooked in a proper wood-fired oven, and this makes all the difference to the process. It was presented on a wooden platter, allowing me to use cutlery or hands. The pizza wasn't full of cheese, like in a lot of other Italian restaurants; this one had spicy sausage on a base of fresh tomato and chilli paste, and a little cheese. The seasoning was also on-point resulting in a moist (but not soggy), perfectly-cooked pizza, and my only regret is that I didn't order any more.
For dessert, I tried the Limoncello tiramisu, a different twist on the traditional Italian dessert, which was uniquely presented in a glass jar with freshly grated lemon zest. I have to say that it was superb, without being too wet, dry or overly heavy.
The service at the restaurant was good, with the maitre'd providing good conversation and advice. I would most highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly authentic Italian establishment in Ealing, and I will definitely return in the future!
