The Grill East Ham

Honestly the best food, i got a crispy chicken burger with chips and a drink and my friends got other really top notch food too and it was all soo nice the flavours were immaculate and the place is genuinely so beautiful with great decorations! The staff are the most friendliest, kindest people I’ve ever met, may God bless them, they honestly make your expirence better and make you feel so welcome! I recommend everyone to not walk to Kayene Grill but RUN, u wont be disappointed, easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever gone to!

4* as it was 50% off using the Feed the Lion voucher, 3* if we had paid full price. Starters were nice. Well flavoured chops, ribs and mac and cheese and a good enough size for starters. However, the mains were disappointing. Steak is meant to be an indulgent meal. Our chicken cheese steaks were probably the smallest we have seen in a restaurant. If you compare this to Chicken Parmesan in Manjaros, that is a much superior product at £9 (this place might be 40% smaller in size and slightly more expensive?). The coleslaw on the side was a small teaspoon full. Chips were ok. The nice mushroom sauce is served in a thimble. The £22 beef steak my friend ordered medium cooked but arrived 'tough as old boots' and a struggle to cut, chew and swallow - I love meat steak but rarely order from East London restaurants as they don't know which cuts of meat to use and how to cook it to get it tender. I left hungry and did give feedback go the owner who said something about receiving small pieces of chicken from suppliers and that he did notice the small size. More generosity is needed towards guests, others can get it right, so I don't buy such explanations. We eat out every week or every other week. We agreed we won't return. There is so much choice out there in East London that new places have to offer something better not worse if they want repeat business.

Absolutely wonderful. Me and the missus ordered lamb chops and king prawns for starters. Both tasted excellent and it was obvious a lot of thought had gone onto the king prawn starter with sophisticated flavours. Unlike other grill joints I've been to food isn't fried to the point it is charred and devoid of flavours. For mains we ordered the beef sirloin steak 12 ounces which was a good size. Again flavours were distinct, decent. Sauces that came with it were rich but could have been a little more sauce for the size of our steaks. Downside however was that the meat itself tasted a little on the cheaper side. Could have been less well done. We took two milk shakes home, fairly standard but good value. Overall, excellent service from the owner, and staff. Decor was nice though could tell painting wasn't finished yet.. would defo come back again when I'm next in the area. If you visit at night just be mindful as alcoholic eastern Europeans louting about.

First time, but certainly not the last, at the Kayene Grill! With a whole range of starters, mains, desserts and beverages you will definitely find something that tickles your fancy. I devoured the Americana burger accompanied by peri-peri wings, both of which were delicious. The hosts were truly hospitable giving us an amazing overall experience and the service provided is 10/10. With a modern and sleek interior design, it is a great place to dine with your family and a fantastic place for you and your friends to eat and chill.
