Love Barrafina! Great food with lots of flavours.I recommend the counter seats, you get to see the food getting made. The restaurant is in a great location , right in the Coal Drops Yard next to the canal, with great options for shopping and after food walking. The food is reasonably priced for central London but if you are looking to have more than a few tapas and some drinks be prepared to spend more.Overall, it’s a great experience and would highly recommend it.
Had a fantastic lunch here on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. The chef is a magician and every dish, including the ones others ordered, looked delectable. 10/10 highly recommend!
This place has REALLY tasty, authentic Spanish food with great options for drinks as well.
(I suggest using Google lens to translate the menu if you don't know Spanish)
We ordered quite a few items.
To begin with, for drinks we ordered a bottle of Red wine (Sierra Cantabria), and one Americano (t'was a long day!)
For food, we ordered the ham croquetas (a MUST try),
the "special" croquetas,
pimientos de padron,
Pan con tomate,
Cured Monkfish (MUST try),
Gambas Rojas,
Prawn and piquillo tortilla (Must try)
Patata Bravisimas,
Baby gem and anchovies,
And Gazpacho.
For dessert we had the Crema Catalena (must try).
The food is super filling so we were quite happy. For 4 people, the bill was about 60-70 per person.
Overall it was a good experience.. great ambience as well!
Also, I suggest booking a table before hand, this place gets crowded. We had to wait for about 15-20 minutes, even with our reservation since it was really that crowded. No complaints though - the Coal Yard area is quite beautiful and one can explore the place..
The best tapas I had in London. Everything we ordered was delicious, in particular the tortilla. We sat by the bar and the service was great. And the free sparkling water was a nice extra touch.
Incredible food - very memorable. Every single dish was excellently executed. The tortilla, piemento, mackerel, and squid ink risotto are must-haves. I hope they open a branch in Singapore.
The service was very attention - lady was very patient with the long list of dietary restrictions and allergy shared between me and my friend. The dishes she recommended are not something I wouldn’t normally order but amazing. Try the Mojama. And the tarta de queso is always good.
Nice food, great staff.
Really good flavours in a lovely setting. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The croquettas were great as were the other dishes. Pictures are chipperones, padron peppers, cod cheeks and tortilla. The tortilla was rich and runny. Probably a little steep price wise. With service a meal for two was £111, not terrible but pushing it a bit given that all the food is pictured. (Chipperones were bigger of course). Will go back.
Fantastic tapas restaurant near to King’s Cross! Croquettes and chicken were particularly enjoyable, it’s undoubtedly the fastest tapas I’ve ever had with it arriving in under 20 minutes. Did however feel as though the staff were watching us as we dined on the bar stools
We just had the most amazing family lunch at Barrafina Coal Drops Yard. Probably best to book in advance as we had to wait an hour for seating. We had a range of food and everyone was delicious, red mullet, chicken thighs, various veg and so on. The service is excellent and the restaurant is continuously busy with a great atmosphere.
If you are looking for a Spanish break in London, this is definitely the best place to go. I would recommend to go with friends and share some tapas together. The croquettas, the tortilla and the octopus were amazing. The staff was very friendly and the dining room where we stayed at the back of the restaurant very cozy. Would definitely recommend you to book a table there! Be just aware that prices are much higher than Spain and it could cost a little more than expected!
