Chicken Cottage

First impression: I’ve been told by people that this branch is a decent one. And they weren’t wrong! The Portion size of both the chicken and the fries was more than enough. The batter itself on the chicken was well seasoned. And the fires.... they were perfect. Not too crispy nor too oily nor too soggy. So far so good however I did have a couple small issues. The temperature! The chicken was not hot at all and the drink was not cold (which I can sort of forgive as they probably filled up the fridge not long before I came). And the last thing, they wouldn’t give me enough sauce. One of each for a medium sized meal. Overall I enjoyed this branch’s food and I would maybe consider recommending this place but if they took my review and my complaints into consideration, then I’d defiantly recommend this place and in my opinion make the whole experience better. I visit this specific chicken cottage way too often! It is much better than the head office one in tooting and I switched over a few years back. The fries are perfect, thick enough, crispy and tasty. The chicken burgers are made really well with good quality buns (not the cheapo ones that fall apart) and usually I get a good sized fillet. Most of the regular guys give a really good portion of chips and the wings are like mini drumsticks. Oh and I cant forget, the peri peri chicken is very good (and the rice!). We generally stick to these things and they have consistently been very very good. Ofcourse on a few occasions things have slipped, but never to the point where I would rate them below a 5 star rating. Quality service is just too consistent. Thanks guys, see you soon. My waist is telling me no, but my belly is telling me yeahhhhh!!!!

I visit this specific store fairly regularly. While I'm not certain of the consistency of other stores, the quality of the food at Chicken Cottage Balham is always on point. Yes, I've had the rare food order stumble due to human error (who doesn't?), but it is clear that they go the extra mile and always offer up great tasting food that is prepared with care, the highest standards of hygiene and at a good price.
