Decent food and service. Spacious restaurant and I’m sure would be a good place to set up and work. Slightly lacks the atmosphere and quality of some of the other cafes around Streatham Hill perhaps as it’s not table service but pay at the bar. Dog friendly though which is a bonus.

It is the ideal place on Streatham high road where you can chill in the evening and weekends without feeling guilty for leaving your fury friend home alone. You can have tea, coffee, wine, beer or any other drink you fancy. The food is really good too. If your dog is with you they will provide them with their very own water bowl and biscuit, ensuring that everyone’s tails are kept wagging. Cosy with modern interiors. I highly recommend it.

This bar is fairly new to the area (8 months or so) but is a beautiful example of a local, feel good venue. The drinks selections are well considered and full of flavour and that is mirrored in the food. It is wholesome, tasty and fresh. What I would call ‘good, honest food!’ On top of the food and drink being excellent, there is a team that are friendly and passionate about what they do. It’s great to have somewhere like this close by and I would happily recommend it to all. I am confident you won’t regret it!

I'm a person that's very particular about their poached eggs - they have to be runny but not too liquid, and also rich and unctuous. The Chalkpit gets them juuust right. This unassuming brunch was honestly the best eggs royale I've ever had - salty, silky salmon with a honey edge to it, buttery, warm, soft potato bread with just enough chewiness, and hollandaise that does justice to the eggs sacrificed for it. Really good value for money, great location and decor. I'll be coming back!

Great brunch - pulled pork kimchi on a hash potato! Also fried chicken is ace. Also a very relaxed place to get work done during the day.

A hidden gem - went here with a friend to try their bottomless brunch. One dish and unlimited booze (from a limited menu) for 2 hours for £30. The only thing I would say is the dishes could have been a bit more generous considering how much booze can be consumed reasonably within 2 hours but apart from that it’s a really nice place with plenty of offers to get you in there! Their fried chicken looks AMAZING. Just check their Instagram page if you don’t believe me 🤤

Very good food, recommend the Sunday Roast, excellent value for money. This place will only get more popular as word spreads.

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a couple of weeks now and we love it. The staff are great, the beer is great and the cider they have is one of the best I’ve tasted! On top of that the menu is amazing. I’m pretty sure we’ve had almost everything on it and it’s all fantastic, especially the beef brisket bun. Make sure you try the cheesecake!!

Chalkpit is a welcome addition to Streatham High Street. Opened in Nov 2018, it replaced the long moribund site once held by Beyrouths. The owners describe it as a modern pub and it certainly is. The aesthetic is stripped back, utilitarian and industrial. It stands out from some of the more period places in the local area. The big thing you will notice is the menu. No roasts, no burgers, no sausage and mash. They have instead opted for a really interesting BBQ menu served on potato breads or flatbreads. The food I had (BBQ chicken on flatbread, brisket burnts ends and lamb skewers) was outstanding. The only thing I would note is that portion sizes all small. They could do more to draw attention to this I think. The beer selection is small but well curated - a lot of thought has gone into this. Overall, this is a great little place and I suspect it will only go from strength to strength. A special shout out to the owner/manager James who chatted about their vision and is exactly the type of "publican" that the area needs.

There's a new bar in town! And you definitely can't miss it, with its modern signage and lighting. I enjoyed a glass of wine with my husband, and a couple of the flatbreads & house potato buns (the pulled pork with black pudding is to die for). If you are a fan of interior design then you will love it here, so much attention to detail has gone into launching this place. Nice to have somewhere modern and refreshing to frequent. Will definitely be back to work my way through the cocktail menu.....
