I work in the area and I went for lunch with a friend in this place. The service was very kind, the restaurant has a few tables, but it was quite empty inside. The food was great though, very tasty and really cheap, so I will definitely go back to this place and I would recommend it.

We ordered their takeaway before and have always been pleased with the quality and taste (we love their dry-wok 干锅 dishes), but it was our first time to eat in the restaurant yesterday. Everything tasted very fresh, full of flavour yet not too salty. We had "Mouth-watering chicken 口水鸡", my personal favourite of the night; "Fish-fragrant aubergine 鱼香茄子", great balance of flavours; "Morning glory with garlic 蒜蓉空心菜", which I highly recommend, and"Spicy frog legs 香辣馋嘴蛙", which was nice although I'm not sure that the very many aubergine pieces worked particularly well in this dish... But, the best of all was how lovely the staff were - so warm, friendly and attentive, very kind people and very pleasant, we will certainly go there again. So happy to have such a good Chinese restaurant in Islington, we highly recommend it.

TLDR, Not all dishes meet my expectation, but I give it 5 stars mainly because of their dry-wok and some other dishes which are really impress me. Had ordered their dry-wok numerous times. Everything has been sizzled to spicy perfection. Mouth might go numb from the heatwave of peppercorn, but I just cant help myself to indulge in the 2nd round. 5 stars dishes: Their Sweet & Sour Pork Tenderloin, & Sliced beef lungs and Ox tongue in Chilli Sauce also impress me. 4 stars: all you can eat hot pot, reasonable priced and good range of selection. Others: not impress, some even not meet my expectation. All in all, it is worth to try if you know what you want to eat.

I grew up in China and some of my fondest memories are how delicious cheap noodles and soups were. There aren't too many options for serious Chinese food in North London but this is one of them - just look at this extensive menu of cold, hot, hot-pot, noodle soup dishes, makes me drool, and for a considerably reasonable price too. I get full for the rest of the day off of a £14 meal (including 12.5% discretionary service charge). When you sit down you get a few free prawn crackers - light, crispy, melt in your mouth, plus tap water without asking (you can get ice too)! I've eaten their homemade hot & sour soup (no packet stuff) with tofu, black fungus, chicken, carrot, egg drop - a delicious spicy, not for the faint of heart. Also dan dan noodles with mincemeat, pickled vegetables, fresh green garnish, chilli oil (as you can see), and soft delicious round noodles (reminded me of ramen style noodle shape). 酸辣汤又辣一点也好吃, 担担面也很好吃。After you finish they bring you free fruit to refresh your palate. This restaurant took over a space that was previously buffet-style Chinese, however it is totally different. I really support this place, especially as it's an immigrant-run business, and hope they go far, I'd say they easily give Chinatown-based eateries a run for their money. I've been here twice now and will come back with more people to make sure they get to experience it too. The staff are all incredibly accommodating, mannered and remembered my face! The owner is Chinese and the chefs are also Chinese. The staff are multilingual (English / Mandarin / probably more) and so may naturally speak among themselves in another language - I don't think that's rude! I will order from this restaurant online too when I can, as they're on Deliveroo. 如果我买得起,我每天都会在这里吃饭 :)

The best hotpot in London. All you can eat hot pot at £23.8pp. There were so many varieties you can choose from including crab and prawns. All ingredients are super fresh; staff welcoming; interior is clean and well furnished. Highly recommend ;)

Opened only recently, Taste of China is an authentic Sichuan restaurant, whose head chef is Sichuanese himself. Their 20% discount on launch (now sadly no longer available) compelled me to try their hot-pot special (£23.90 per person - for an unlimited number of dishes for 2 hours). Overall, the experience was wholly positive. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, recommending the most fresh dishes for the hotpot itself. As many other hot-pot goers may know, fresh produce is of great importance. To begin with, the broth was excellent. The non-spicy broth was incredibly well-made - incredibly fragrant and had a natural but flavourful taste. The spicy broth was to a strong degree of spice but not overpowering. The dishes themselves were good also: the lamb and beef was very up-to-standard as you'd expect. The fish, for me, was by far the highlight and a must-get. The cabbage was fresh. The mushrooms were equally well-soured. However, it must be said that I did not enjoy the tofu as much and the pork was rather average also. There is also a wide array of sauces and dips to experiment with - although, personally, I tend to stick with a sesame or peanut sauce to complement. Generally, this was a brilliant start for the restaurant. I thoroughly recommend others to go and I'll be back to try their other dishes also.

Many choices! Delicious beef and fresh fish! Great service! I saw positive feedbacks on the Chinese social media so I came to this restaurant. I like it very much. I will come here next time with friends.
