The best kept secret in Parsons Green. Excellent wine, food, atmosphere and service.
Bellissimo!!!
Food so tasty, welcoming staff, competitively priced!
For nearly thirty years, Vicino has been serving authentic Italian food to residents of Parsons Green. We were invited to dine here, and with fresh lobsters from Billingsgate Fish Market, yummy pasta, a good selection of wine, and tiramisu on the menu, it wasn’t hard to say yes.
Lobster, pasta, cheese and tiramisu – four things in my opinion which make Italian food great and timeless. A cuisine which has been loved by not just the British, but the entire world. It can be simple and sometimes complex, but no matter what – it’s always so satisfying. When people have to confess their desert island dish they always think of something obscure – but really we’re all thinking Italian. Well I know I am anyway.
Italian cuisine has always been on my favourites - you just can't go wrong with a big plate pasta! The problem living in Central London is that it tends to be more the big chain Italian restaurants that I am able to easily get to. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Pizza Express/Ask/Bella Italia, but sometimes you do want somewhere just that little bit more authentic. Introducing... Vicino!
The prospect of sampling a 10-course tasting menu of home-cooked Italian Cuisine is one worth going hungry for. Yyou just know, without any semblance of doubt, that you will be travelling home sated…and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. Vicino Restaurant, opened in 1987, has had multiple plaudits bestowed on both food and atmosphere. Head Chef Marco Moscoloni hailing from Le Marche along the Adriatic Coast has already taken London by storm previously working in Convivio, Belgravia. His style and flair revolves around traditional Italian cooking with a contemporary twist.
Low key (unpretentious) - pasta was excellent and wine was well priced for the quality. The server sang in Italian to my beautiful lady when she mentioned she was hoping I would propose some day. Simply a Devine experience!!!!
Lovely family-run feel and excellent food. Very generous portions!
Family owned vibes throughout. The decor was beautiful and the food was even better. Service was fabulous and friendly. The mini breadsticks were too cute
Absolutely love the whole ambience of this gem of a restaurant. On this occasion, we celebrated our daughters birthday. Always a wonderful experience when eating here. Food is fabulous, and staff are all wonderful. Until next time!!
I've been to Vicino a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The food is both amazing in taste and also amzing in presention. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back!
Great food, good atmosphere. Friendly and attentive service. Reasonable prices. Nothing to complain about and much to commend.
While visiting the team at our London office, I was taken to this unassuming Italian restaurant about 0.5 miles or (0.8 kilometers) away.
Living in the New York and New Jersey areas, having been to Italy numerous times, and having eaten food by chefs such as Lidia Bastianich and Massimo Bottura, I am definitely what you could consider picky about what constitutes good Italian food.
Dining in at Vicino's and having their Lasagna Vicino was a totally unexpected and pleasant surprise. I also tried one of their veal meatballs and both items were rustic, delicious, and honestly tasted of home in the sense that you knew the person that made them loves their culture and most importantly the food he puts out in front of people.
The flavors were all well balanced with nothing being too intense or assaulting your taste buds. The best thing about the food is that it tasted like home. For anyone that knows or has an Italian nonna, that is the vibe you get with each bite.
All in all, I highly suggest. Their drink selection was also quite robust (with the exception of beer), but then again pubs are for beer and restaurants are for great food.
Such a Nice place, great tasty food and friendly staff
Amazing and authentic Italian restaurant in London. Family oriented, was full so you should book just in case.
We ordered spaghetti with lobster, seabass, linguine and some drinks. Everything was great. Best pasta I had in long time.
Staff is very professional and friendly.
This is the cutest and most delicious Italian restaurant I’ve been to by far, I would 100% recommend. It has an amazing ambiance and great service.
Good value, fam and date friendly - traditional, honest good Italian food
