passed by, cozy vibe, quick service, but basic drink and basic menu, maybe English pub is not my style anyway
Staff was welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere and beer selection was awesome! We came during the holiday season so they were out of a lot of items but I’m not holding that against them. We did the pie board and I do not regret it! Everything was delicious!
Happened upon Ale & Pie while waking the area on morning and decided to dine-in.
At first I thought it was only reserved for guests of the hotel, but once seated I was treated well and served a delicious smoked salmon eggs benedict.
Definitely on my short-list of places to eat if and when I visit London again!
Good pub with good pies and a good selection of beers as well. Great service by Nico!
Staff was welcoming of out of towners. Traditional style setting. Fish and chips were pretty decent. In fact better than a lot of pubs in the area. I wish they would be more generous with ice. A better beer and spirits selection would be appreciated. Parking was not fantastic.
Wow, my new place to go for Pies in London.
I had the Tasting board with three pies and three beers.
Steak & Ale Pie, Trio of mushrooms pie and Chicken tikka masala pie, the beers (ales) are London Pride, ESB and Honey Dew. Those are served with mesh and triple fried chips.
The chips were fluffy the only thing that wasn't great, the waiter did not give us recommendation but I suggest to first eat the mushroom pie, then the steak and ale pie, and lastly the chicken tikka, this will allow to enjoy at best the flavour of all three pies.
To recognise the pies, on top you can find markers, - is the tikka, * is the steak, and + is the mushroom pie, so my recommended order is +*-.
There is also a white gravy, I was not instructed on how to use it, but as per my personal taste you can use it with the mushroom pie.
We tasted also 4 starters, all very good, the Buffalo chicken wings are spicy, as they are supposed to be, so order it if you can handle spicy. Croquettes are very tasty!
Nice glass of wine with the Mrs while visiting The City and also really decent pub food!
Nice English pub with nice English people. Great pints and cyders and dishes as well. Near to London Bridge Station. Recommend to pop in for a drink minimum.
We stopped for a drink on slow Monday during lunchtime and I had the feeling that you stepped back in the good old days. Beautiful place with plenty of history, classic paintings and drawings I can just walk around and read them all how good it feels to me to be there. Will definitely come to try their pies one evening because it must be just stunning in the dark out there!
I was looking for a typical London pub as I hadn't eaten at one yet on my stay in the UK. Fuller's totally lived up to my expectations and more. Our waitress, Emma, was very attentive to our every need and the selection of ales and beers was quite extensive. The pies are dinner pies i.e. shepard's, even vegetarian (my choice, since I was tired of all the meat that I was eating). I reccommend this pub to anyone looking for a 1st class English meal.
