Delicious food...very good prawn starter with an outstanding sauce...staff are super friendly and helpful...+++...happily recommended to friends and family...
We went for the 2 course meal lunch and we were very pleased with what they presented us. Very calm environment, very good houmous and baba ganoush for starters. The pita bread comes hot and soft, really good. The vegetarian moussaka is delicious and although comes in a small portion, you'll feel satisfied.

Great value, generous portions and super chargrill pit. The service is ok. Gets very busy at the weekends but have never waited long for a table. I recommend the whole sea bass, head included. Great steaks.

It's bizarre how certain places in your local area stand out, while others blend into the background to the point they're almost invisible.
Perhaps we're drawn to the more hyped restaurants, or maybe it's just down to their decor and whether it chimes with our tastes.
Because I've lived in South East London for 2.5 years now and never really paid much attention to Hisar Mezze Restaurant on Lordship Lane, despite passing it countless times.
But one Saturday, as I drove past LL's assortment of eateries I've gone to and loved - Franco Manca, Franklins, Toast - looking to book a last - minute dinner, I noticed how busy Hisar was. The others were out of the question, either too busy or a bit too pricy for what we wanted.
As soon as we walked in I was happy. It was rammed but they found space for us even though we hadn't booked.
It's interior, all stone and wood, was reminiscent of a cosy taverna while the centrepiece, the massive charcoal grill, spewed out beautifully scented smoke that had us salivating from the start.
We ordered mixed starters: tabbouleh, hummus, halloumi, and lots of others I can't remember. All lovely.
For mains, we ordered a mixed grill of a lamb chop, grilled chicken, chicken wing, lamb kofta and lamb chunks, all done over charcoal and bursting with flavour.
Their Original Iskender was also beautiful - a lamb shawarma donee with tomato sauce & yoghurt, served on pitta that 9ne we finished the beautiful meat, had absorbed all its beautiful juices. Delicious.
Too full for dessert, it came to about £70 which was a bargain.
A true local gem.
Been visiting this place since years and frequently, i can safely say the experience is consistent and great each time. The place does not disappoint in terms of food quality, have never had a single bad meal here. On the upsides list, the portion sizes are perfect, the prices reasonable and they have takeaway services as well! Superb!

I did not find any problem in the service except that it gets too crowded on weekends so the service gets slow.
The best part about it is that I never had to wait too long for the table.

This place in my opinion is one of the best restaurants around East Dulwich. The food is great, with an excellent mezze platter, which is delicious. The staff is rather friendly and helpful. The ambience of the restaurant is amazing and has a great vibe. In all, the place is good value for money and is a must visit. I'm waiting to go back!!

I've been coming here for a few years now and I can honestly say I'm never disappointed. The food is just amazing, cooked to perfection! The staff are so friendly and happy to help. Generous sized portions I always end up taking food home which they have no problem with. If I could give 6 stars I would. Love, love, love it!!!
One of my favourite restaurants in East Dulwich that have been to numerous times over the past few years.
Service is quick and friendly and the food tastes great. The portion sizes generous and offer good value for money. My favourite dish is the original iskender.

We made an appointment earlier today. On arrival we were asked at the door for our name and there was a quick check to make sure we were wearing masks. Staff were really courteous. Atmosphere was nice. Very mixed group of customers. Ages that is...As usual we were the only ones of colour but didn't really matter as our meal was great!

Food was great, the calamari and fish dinner was nice. Hisar a great restaurant for families and date nights, overall good food, good atmosphere and great value for money.
We went out to celebrate a birthday dinner one evening and had a great time. It was lovely, the staff were very friendly and the food was really good. Spending included wine, drinks and food.
