First Aid Box

Have not eaten here yet (they are always fully booked 😲) but have been in for cocktails which is worth a visit in itself. The vibe is super cosy and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. These guys make a lot of their own bitters and other infusions to bring an interesting twist to classics as well as some very creative flavour combos that I have not had before 🍸 They are very dog friendly and we’ll definitely come here to eat... when we can get a table :)

Superb bar. Far more than just a ‘neighbourhood bar,’ it delivers on both concept and quality. Inside, you’re met with magnificent decor that really sells the medical theme. Everything in here, pretty much, is aesthetically pleasing, and that includes the cocktails. An extensive list of cocktails is superbly-delivered and the addition of specials makes this worth visiting on more than one occasion. I enjoyed everything about visiting this bar. Staff were friendly and the pricing is decent. It’s a truly great bar in the heart of Herne Hill.

Amazing cocktails and delicious food! And the owner Dave couldn't be a better host. As the sister bar/restaurant to Shrub and Shutter it's unsurprising that the food and drink are great here. The cocktails at both venues are amazing, as good as any I've had anywhere in the world. I even have the book, Doctor's Orders. I was pleased to discover that the adventurous food is also fab. The menu at First Aid Box is not for those who like to stay in their food comfort zone, yet it's great comfort food! The current a la carte menu (sharing dishes) includes pig's head and lamb's heart, as well as the more traditional like cauliflower cheese croquettes, beef in a variety of ways and a charcuterie board...and it's all delicious. Arrive hungry!!
