I have lived in the area for a long while but had never been there! Some neighbour told me it was good food with good friendly service...well, they were not wrong!! Really reasonable prices around £6 for main dish. The food is very good...promptly served!! It was a big plate/big portion as  I could hardly finish it! I had the salty fish which was just right and not too salty. My friend had the curry that was very nice ...I had a taste ;) My friend also had a nice cake for dessert and he did like the place/food/experience  too as he suggested going again this week coming. :) The service was excellent (!!)  both guys went out of their way to be nice, friendly and helpful!! I definitely recommend! ..and I am planning to go again soon and tell my friends about it! If only other posher more expensive  places made the same effort!! I noticed they had some vegetarian dishes and nice salads too...for next time .
Thank you guys for a nice meal and a refreshing experience! :) ..and the little sweet on the house :)

Great tasty food served by friendly staff. I had curry goat which lovely and gf had vegan curry which she said was the best veg meal she had a ages very tasty. This is a great local small business which we need more of in Hackney serving the local community.

Peter was awesome, very pleasant and hospitable. Our Leeds team are mainly vegetarian/ vegan and there was plenty of options on the menu for everyone. Definitely recommend and will definitely go back.

Went here with a friend for a coffee and chat and we loved the place, friendly staff, affordable drinks and great ambience...loved their music choices. Returned today to have a catch up with bf and some lunch and we weren't disappointed. Their jerk chicken and spice rice was a super hit, everything tasted great and fresh. Staff and music fantastic. Left feeling great! Thanks :)

Fantastic place. A little gem in the heart of Hackney. The food is fantastic, a selection of fry ups, vegetarian, Caribbean and sandwiches complements this quaint little cafe. The customer service is impeccable, one can tell that they are stepping into a family business. The way they treat their customers is unique and makes you feel right at home. I recommend to anyone who is in the area!

You need to go here right now. It's rare to find a resto now days that feel authentically warm. Peter is a special soul and welcomes as guests as he would into a home. Really glad I stumbled on this gem. Vegan curry was wonderful too.

I absolutely loved this place! Brilliant cafe in the heart of Dalston- amazing food and impeccable service. Ate the beef curry with spicy rice- so much food on the plate. Also onion rings in the veggie burgers- which was a great little twist. Very much a family run business, really old school like that and was playing good jazz music. Can't be beat on price- and also lunch time menu in the weekday to my surprise cut our bill by half. To my surprise - I took my remainding curry and rice to go- and the guy topped it up with more rice as a goodwill gesture. Lovely people, nice to see places like that exist in Hipster Dalston.

Good place for a great meal on a budget. Try the stew of the day for £6,50 (curry goat, chicken, or vegetarian). Good big portions. Home food made with love. Super friendly atmosphere. If you try it, you'll keep coming back.
