-had great tandoori chicken-very moist and flavorful--madras curry spicy and delicious Good naan--server vey helpful wih menu choices. Would love to go back
Love that this place is so close to the station and is open until midnight. This makes it the perfect dinner location to go to after seeing a show at the open air theatre in Regent Park.
I really enjoyed the mushroom and peppers curry. Yellow daal curry was average and I wish I had ordered the okra instead.
Mumtaz was surely the best restaurant from my entire trip of UK . This is the place where you are thrilled with the hospitality in terms of not only food and drinks but also a great service. The service here is so brilliant that they leave no stone unturned and leave you with a pleasurable experience. I must say the gem of the restaurant is the owner . We had a conversation throughout our meal and he shared his personal experience from moving to London from India , and his gesture, politeness and his humble nature made a very strong connection with us.
We landed here after visiting Madame Tussauds , as it was the best Indian restaurant nearby . As you enter the restaurant, you get the royal background view with a rich ambience to sit and dine in.
We ordered Prawn Biryani , Butter Chicken, Naan and Mix veg. I must say , this was the best Prawn biryani of my life .Mix veg was perfectly cooked . Coming to the buttter chicken , it was very thick and creamy , hence delicious. Butter Naan was soft and crispy with lot of butter melted on it !!The staffs were very polite and humble .
Full marks to the renovation and full marks to there service along with the delicious food .#HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Best restaurant for indian food little bit expensive but very tasty food....
Awesome punjabi food with superb ambience I been to this mumtaz restaurant with my mumtaz :) :) :) :) :) :)
Went there for a quiet late afternoon lunch with a couple of friend after my visit to Madam Tussaud's. We searched the place n was good that it was walking distance. It's again an Indian Mughals joint with most of the staff being from india n Bangladesh.
Being really hungry we ordered a large non veg platter to start with. The taste was really good n all the items were really well done n soft. The chicken wings (or was it legs, don't remember) was the best along with the tikka. Fish was also decent. In the main course we tried some butter chicken n some mutton dish I don't remember. Maybe it was Kauai mutton. Both were really tasty though I found the mutton dish to be too spicy. Had a good quantity still had to get the left over items packed since the serving size was very good.
The service was very good n cost was also very reasonable. All this made it a very good outing n was easy on the wallet too. Overall a nice experience n recommended for good Indian food.
This was one of the best curries that we've had since moving to London almost two years ago. We'd gotten so used to being disappointed by bland, unimaginative and generally tasteless 'curries' that we just started to accept it as the UK norm... so much for that 'best curries in the world are in London' line of chuff. Mumtaz was a welcome slap in the face. Finally, a decent curry. From the lamb chop starter to the Atchar Ghosht and Lamb Korma mains, this place has restored our faith in the famed London Curry!
The chutneys they have are so yummy, and the staff always makes it a point to accommodate us. Given we were a big group, they really helped us sort through our order and the quantities were just right. We were all so happy at the end of our meal!
I, along with my friends, visited this place a long time back. The restaurant was quite large though I didn't like their décor and the higher authorities should also take necessary steps to improve the infrastructure. Now coming on to the food, I must say it was the best curry that I ever had. The portions served were also quite large and I found the quality to be pretty good. The staff was affable and the prices were also in a reasonable range. Overall, it was a good bet to visit this restaurant.
This is the best Indian restaurant that I have tried till now. It serves really authentic food and their curry is something to watch out for. The meat served was also very good quality. Those who like spicy food must try this place some time. The prices were reasonable and I really liked the quality of their food.
This Indian place offers a robust flavour to your taste buds. While one hogs on to the delicious and strong garlic naan (a type of bread) and the spicy lamb korma, one finds themselves at a loss of words. These dishes are cooked to perfection in the most authentic way. Having spent 18 pounds for a wholesome and flavoursome meal is reason enough for us to come back!
We came on a whim after finding it hard to turn our eyes away from the 14.95 meal special!
It was quiet inside but luckily that didn't put us off. All around we ended up with a post-park-walk quality meal for the price!
Delicious Halal food
Nice seats.
Friendly staff, Hassan and Jana are very helpful and kind.
Visited the place after a theater performance. Relatively cheap (£25 per person not taking wine) and very tasty. Can recommend their bryani and kashgari dishes. Very satisfying, will come more.
Mr Hayati is the owner he’s from Lahore originally
Came London to study law then did CA
And 20 grocery shops and purchased this hotel 20 years ago
The food here is good and as Indians we loved all the items here
I suggest this especially for Indian cuisine in London
Not the most beautiful place from the outside. Food is abundant, excellent and fairly priced. I went past this restaurant for twenty years and never went in. One of my colleagues who needed to take Marylebone train suggested we meet there. I am glad I went. This is a hidden jewel for the Baker Street area.
I visited them tonight. It was really one of the best 3 restaurants in London in terms of welcoming on the door, ordering, time to prepare the food, avenue and all details.
It was amazing experience and I am sure that I will visit them again and recommend all my friends, relatives and colleagues to visit them.
Special and very big thanks to Employee Sara, she really makes everything perfect and provides more than excellent service. 10/10 Sara 👍👍👍.
Great taste and service! Would have loved to have this restaurant closer to home.
Good service, Good Food. Very nostalgic feeling from the seating to the lavatory. Will hope to visit again. Veg biryani and butter chicken recommend
Lovely atmosphere and very friendly but the food took a long while to arrive but when it, it was lovely!
The food was exceptional. The Poppadoms and pickle tray, were divine. The karahi Murg chicken just melted. The sauce had a nice kick to it. The Garlic Naan was more like a crispy flat bread, but still delicious. Topped of with a large bottle of sparkling water. All for less than £30. Definitely will visit again.
