If you know about West Hendon it's at the cusp of major redevelopment. It's no insult to say that a makeover is long overdue. Nevertheless, there are a few places there you would think are ahead of the game in terms of how you perceive the area to look like once it's been 'spruced up'. I would contend that Royal Lahore might fit that bill. When entering the restaurant you get the feeling that it might be one of those local culinary unearthed gems. The ambiance is pleasing as is the service and manners of the staff. Anyone who has had the privilege of eating authentic Afghan food will know that they do not scrimp when it comes to portions. One portion of Kabuli Lamb and a starter of chicken wings was enough for two grown men. The Afghan tea was a refreshing end to a lovely meal which was pitched at the right price. As I stated earlier, two grown men were able to eat for under £20. If you're in the area this is one of the food spots I recommend you give a try.
