Green Jade

I was a regular customer (I went there almost every day for lunch and dinner) of Li and his wife for nearly a year while studying for my master’s degree. The food is always perfect; I can say that I tried almost everything on the menu. The service and atmosphere were also better than none. I am Turkish, but I even brought my Chinese friends to try his food, and they told me the food was exactly the same in their hometown. Describing my experience in Green Jade with these words, however, would be a mistake. Li and his wife have always been so lovely to me. I remember Li often giving me treats in the house because he knew I was a student. One day, a beggar was not leaving me and my friend alone, and Li immediately came out from his shop with a broom in his hand and expelled him. Another day, I ordered soup for lunch and dinner -I usually went for beef and rice back then. Li asked me whether I felt pinched and told me if this was the case, he could help me. He told me I didn’t need to worry about money in his restaurant so many times. In a nutshell, Li and his wife serve perfect food and are always lovely and helpful. Words are inadequate for me to describe my experience with the Green Jade. I miss them and their food so much. Always recommended!

What an amazing find this was. Read the reviews and glad we did. Son and I had crispy chilli beef with egg fried rice and crispy pork and duck on crispy noodles. Absolutely delicious, great portions and the most friendliest of owners. Had Chinese tea on the house and they gave some Tea Leaves as my son loved it. Will definitely go back and will also get our take aways from here. Excellent!!!

I have used the Green Jade since it took over from Wai Shang many years ago. I have tried other Chinese restaurants but this is SIMPLY THE BEST in our area. The varied dishes, tastes and low prices can’t be beaten!! The guy who runs it is lovely and friendly. Love Green Jade - give I a go you won’t be disappointed 🤩👌

The owner is very welcoming, friendly and personable. The food itself is delicious, probably one of the best Cantonese/Chinese food in London! The restaurant is also very accommodating to vegans and vegetarians alike, the owner will remember your dietary choices well. Prices are very fair, nothing to complain about, I love it and have become a regular!!

Must try, worth the trip! A family owned Chinese restaurant, Green jade provides authentic Asian cuisine specialising in Chinese style cooking at an incredibly valuable price. Plus, he treats his customers like family with heartfelt sincerity. He remembers our preferences each time we patronise. Hands down, one of the best Chinese food you can experience in London!

The Green Jade has been run by the same family since the 80's. Its a great little place, the proprietor Stan Lee is also a real character and a really nice guy. The food and prices are great, I will be really sad when I move away from this area next month and the green Jade is no longer only 10 minutes walk away. I will of course visit and to get my dinner whenever I can.

I visited there based on my friend recommendations and I truly appreciate her opinions - it was very good but cheap. You cannot find this kind of local germ very easily. Chicken curry was Japanese style, not Thai, and I and my hubby loved it. Fried garlc and pepper squid was also great. On top of that the owner guy is very kind and nice and he gave us prawn crackers as a service. What a nice gesture!! Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a genuine Chinese with reasonable prices.
