Is now known as Faith Hackney. They have had a revamp and the interior is beautiful and modern. The menu is similar to before so incorporates local and modern version of breakfast along with Turkish and vegan options

When we went on a vacation in London this was the place where we ate our breakfast. Good quality food with some very kind people working there. There is a reason this was the place we went to for a full week.

In the last few days I've heard that it's closed for the foreseeable future... (taken over by another Hackney Café).
Clean. ... affordable Latte ... nice selection of soft drinks in fridge. Great people. Free-to-use cash dispensers very close. I never have to wait.

My wife and I had breakfast at Mel's. Food was tasty and hot. The service was good but basic. The atmosphere as in most small London restaurants is nothing special just takes and chairs, but that works.

Smashing little place . Since starting work in the area last year Mels cafe has been my refuge from work each lunch time . Mel herself is now a friend as we are here every day .
The ladies are all amazing really friendly and always good for a laugh.
Good quality food always freshly made to order and reasonable for price.

They cooked such tasty meals and lovely smoothies. The price was so good that I ordered musaka to take away for dinner and the twins got complimentary lollipops

Use to be a regular here few years back. My favourite was the fish and chips on Fridays. No longer regular here because i don't work in that area. But definitely want to show up on a Friday just for the fresh and yummy 🐟
