You may think this is just another Indian restaurant (like that's a bad thing), but Rasa focusses on the Souh Eastern cuisine of the Kerala region. It's an interesting combination of familiar tastes your palate will recognise, but with a twist if you are unfamiliar with the region's food style. A gastronomic discovery journey
I always like to try something different and somewhere new. Don't get me wrong, i do love the classics and will happily go back to my favourites. However, i feel that it is important to go to new places, learn more and give your taste buds a new experience. Our latest curry adventure was a new journey to stoke newington. Not an area of London renowned for its curries and as I was walking to the venue I went pass a medley of Turkish restaurants, a few burger places and a pizza place too. The smells of these places was alluring but we were focused on Indian tonight and at Rasa Travacone.
Really great experience at Rasa Travancore. Indian cuisine at a new level with strong flavours. Big flavours dominated by the spices. Deffo recommend as an alternative to the usual mixed grills and samosa etc
They have about 7 branches in london, was surprised to know they have a new branch in bangalore indiranagar too. Loved their appam, curry made of mango, banana cooked in yoghurt was awesome.
Brilliant restaurant. Lovely unique food and great prices. The only let down was we were sat next to the toilet!
Delicious food. Authentic Kerala cuisine. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Recommend Kerala Parotta and Tiger prawn masala.
Thank you! I've been in London for 7 months and have tried numerous Indian restaurants looking for a little authenticity, all to no avail. Your food is so lovely and real and makes me miss my mum and her cooking. I cannot wait to get to this restaurant in person and try some more brilliant food.
Really good food, get the pre-meal snacks. Friendly service and a good selection of items.
I had the prawn coconut curry which was nice but didn't match my expectation of a traditionally redder curry. All the food tasted fresh.
Would recommend.
Great and irresistible taste. Had a visit bychance as Vegetarian Rasa was fully booked. Have to say, mouth watering Indian delicacy and extraordinary spice receipie. Apart from dishes, great choice of food varieties especially vegan and gluten free. Dishes that literally took me back home. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves Indian cuisine.

Extensive and tremendous south Indian cuisine. Extremely surprised and excited by the variety of dishes in their menu that never ever get bored for the people who love to try the real traditional range Kerala food. One of my favourite dish is their traditional 'Arachuvacha meen curry, (Fish curry), a must try, mouth watering dish that you never expect to get from any other Indian cuisine. They also included a lot of vegetarian dishes, Dosas etc, this will be a great addition for a group of people who got mixed preferences. Talking about the staff; very polite, friendly, welcoming staffs who provided very efficient services. I would recommend 'Travancore restaurant' to anyone who wants to explore a variety of traditional Indian food!
"Superb non veg food and value for money." This kerala non veg restaurant is a gem. We tried an option called Travancore Feast (around 20 pounds which we shared between two of us ) which included almost everything in the menu. It is an excellent option for those who want to try various dishes in one go. It included the following :
1. Pre meal snacks (included a mix of every item under the pre meal snack menu) with various chutney (We loved the papadom/Pappadavada/Murukku+Mango chutney combination)
2. Starters - The seafood soup (so yummy) and the prawn chutney was very unique and superb, potato bonda was nice.
3. Curry - We thought that the curry portion will be small like other restaurant thalis but that was not the case here. They served each curry in a big white bowl which included 1 fish curry, 1 prawn curry (we swapped it with lamb curry), 1 chicken curry and 1 veg curry (we got peas curry in coconut milk which was very tasty). The best part was the taste was superb. The curries had the same taste of rasa restaurant which is in west london. Upon enquiring we got to know that the chefs worked in rasa restaurants before.
4. Pulao Rice and Kerala Paratha - Pulao Rice and fish curry combination was superb. Kerala Paratha was ok. I guess it was made of wheat instead of maida, which is good if u r looking for a healthier option.
5. One Dessert
Overall it was great we also ordered Appam which was great with Peas Curry.
There is a rasa restaurant opposite to this one but that is pure veg. If you want a kerala non veg option then this is the one (Travancore Restaurant). It is a bit confusing since both of them are painted in pink.
Fabulous, authentic south Indian food. The smells will take you all the way to Kerala. Great value, amazing taste, highly recommended. Definitely rivals Rasa over the road.
Ordered through Deliveroo Travancore Feast menu. It was so tasty, with variety of food and enough for two. The flavour is very original and differs from typical Indian takeaways. Next time we will go in person! Btw, dessert was amazing. <3
Fantastic Indian food. Two restaurants opposite each other, one veggie and one with veg and meat. Really excellent food, very reasonably priced. A must if you fancy an Indian!
Great price, great tasting food. Even though i like the food in the meat restaurant the atmosphere is really awful, asked the waiter to put on music and he put Justin beiber on, not really the experience i was looking for. The Vege RASA on the other hand is really lovely and i love the atmophere
