Brixton Market... Don't go there on Sundays. There are vibes, but more people on Fridays and Saturdays.
Plenty of food and drinks to try, and even more shops to browse.
Be in a good mood and offer yourself a break in any of the nice places.

Food. cosmetics products, gear towards the locals, and everyone. Vibrant, inclusive, representing the best of London Town.

I visited this market located in Electric Avenue essentially to find a colourful shirt. Although the market is relatively small,I guessed that they would know what I was looking for. Electric Avenue is a street in Brixton, London built in the 1880's. It was the first market street to be lit by electric lights. Today the market contains various food and domestic provisions retailers and hosts part of the market that specialises in selling a mix of African, Caribbean, South American and Asian products. It is located just around the corner from Brixton underground tube station.

Much more than a market, multicultural and trendy. My wife and my three daughters enjoyed it a lot. One of them even went to cut her hair in one of the tiny little hairdressers. Not to mention it was not a big deal but it was stylish anyway.

If you are looking for authentic and sometimes unusual food, Brixton is your place to go. Added to the many shops are fantastic places to eat. A great day out.
