I keep buying the Wowcher deals which are only £16 for 3 courses and a glass of wine (or two glasses if you skip dessert), or the Indian Food option, of starter, main, rice and a bottle of Prosecco last time. This is for two people btw! Either option is exceptional value for money. The strip of wallpaper on the ceiling needs sorting out, but that doesn't effect the taste of the food! Big portions, lovely curries, it deserves to be full every night!
Thankyou so much for being so accommodating last night, firstly letting me park my moBility scooter and also accommodating my friends egg allergy, then what a fab karaoke the atmosphere is awesome never sang and had so many ppl sing along and cheer it’s a shame I don’t come to London often x
Always great to be here with my friends. Perfect food whatever we’ve had. Great service especially from John. I admit I always use Groupon vouchers for great value but never had any restrictions, just turn up. Now come about once a month sometimes every fortnight. Although I don’t partake in the karaoke it’s of high standard. Mostly go for the fish n chips but have had a curry once; all good.
We had a very good meal but the service was excelant we arrived over 1 hour early but it was no trouble for people to fit us in we had a very good waiter who never left us waiting for any course he even refused a tip you dont get that type of service in many resturants .And it was a voucher meal ,would go again
Nice little find. Lovely food and well priced. Staff were friendly. Has an outside area down an alley to add to the character.
After reading previous reviews I went there with an open mind and a bargain voucher deal. It is not five dining but for less than a tenner a head what can one expect.
Starters of fish cakes were tasty if a little over moist. Avocado salad was ok. Main of steak and chips was tasty enough nicely grilled steak good flavours. Steak pie had amazingly flaky puff pastry well done chef not a hint of soggy bottom in sight. I would return for the steak pie alone. Apple crumble lacked in crumble but made up in taste. A lovely cinnamon coating on the apples a little more crumble and less juice would have made it perfect. All in all a great value meal.
A warm welcome at The Blue Eyed Maid was followed by helpful service from Rim, Lydia and Nahida. The Indian food served in the Chutney-Jane restaurant was delicious and portions were generous.
We dined late evening, but chose not to have our meal in the upstairs dining room as it was empty. Instead we ate in the bar area, which was buzzing. The karaoke had customers taking to the mic with terrific enthusiasm, but not much talent.
The experience was excellent value and great fun.
Went for Lunch. Lunchtime Indian Buffet is not available anymore, but there is a decent selection of Indian-style set-lunch.
We had a fish and chip instead - good portion size, crispy batter, nice chips. Could do with a little more mushy peas, but otherwise good pub food all around.
It was fantastic Welcoming and the food was mouth watering. We had chicken, lamb and biriani. After dinner we danced and sang karaoke in the bar area. It was a wonderful time I and my husband spent yesterday. I would love to go there again as I took away lamb curry and it was wonderful!
Bought a wowcher here for a mate's birthday. The food was average but for the price was a bargain. The thing that made it for this place was the service. The barmaid was really friendly, gave us a free birthday shot & let us change the wine with the meal for a drink of our choice. I'd definitely go back!
I had a wowcher voucher for this place and almost decided against going there after reading the reviews but thought 'what they hey' give it a go. I didn't really have to worry at all in the end. I loved the rustic look of the pub and was pleasantly surprised to feel really relaxed and comfortable. There was a bit of a cock-up with the food side initially but the staff sorted this out and in the end my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the food, so much in fact that we are going there again very soon and have purchased another voucher (£16) what can I say you can't bit the price. If you were thinking yes I would absolutely go there if I had to pay full price. Usually a string of bad reviews would mean people voting with their feet and eventually this place having to close. Those reviews dating back some years haven't however stopped people from continuing to drink/dine there. Speaks volumes to me...Looking forward to going very soon
Despite negative reviews, I would like to give this place a 5 stars! We came here for my partner's birthday and I'm truly grateful to the staff who were extremely helpful and contributed greatly for the things to run smoothly. From the moment I booked the table to the moment we were leaving it was totally fab and we are very pleased. Thank you so much for your cooperation and exceptional service!
I took my partner there for pub lunch on Father Day something simply and nice.
I was presently surprised the service was next to nothing, I don't like Coriander and the food was served I said I could not eat it they took the meal away and brought me back a fresh cooked meal no fuss at all staff were so nice too, I would go back again no doubt.
The only one criticism is the tables outside could do with a good clean off apart from that all good.
:)
Watched the England Nation's League game here - good amount of screens all with plenty of space to enjoy the match. Staff were attentive and always clearing used glassware. Only negative was the beer option - significantly lacking anything in the world of IPA/Pale - wasn't a problem as drank Estrella and Staropramen but those were the most craft-like you could find here.
