My first visit to Cocorico in Whetstone - with a recommendation for the chilli 🌶 sauce - apparently better than Nandos'. Unfortunately, the expectations weren't met, and the sauce in the bottle was less flavoursome. The char grilled half chicken was good, with fries and salad, good value for a restaurant in London Boroughs. Finished with the home made tirasimu which lacked the flavour of any alcohol. That was a miss for me but perhaps their normal clients would not miss it.

I had the pleasure of dining at this charming Italian restaurant recently, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm and cozy ambiance set the tone for a memorable evening. To begin, the service was impeccable. Our waiter was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also passionate about the cuisine. He offered helpful recommendations and made us feel welcome from the get-go. Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu featured a wide range of Italian classics, from pasta dishes to wood-fired pizzas and delectable appetizers. We started with the bruschetta, which was bursting with flavor, thanks to the ripe tomatoes and fragrant basil. For our main courses, I opted for the traditional lasagna, while my dining partner went for the chicken Alfredo. Both dishes were executed to perfection. The lasagna was layered with rich, savory flavors, and the chicken Alfredo was creamy and indulgent without being overly heavy. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the homemade tiramisu for dessert. It was light, yet incredibly flavorful, with just the right amount of coffee and cocoa to balance the sweetness. What truly impressed us was the restaurant’s commitment to using fresh and high-quality ingredients. It was evident in every bite, making for an authentic Italian dining experience. The wine list was extensive, featuring a selection of Italian wines that complemented our meal wonderfully. The attentive staff helped us choose a wine that paired perfectly with our dishes. In terms of atmosphere, the restaurant was cozy with dimmed lighting and tasteful Italian decor. It was the kind of place where you could enjoy a romantic dinner for two or celebrate a special occasion with a group of friends. One aspect worth noting is the value for money. The portions were generous, and considering the quality of the food and service, the prices were more than reasonable. In conclusion, this Italian restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. It offered a perfect blend of delicious cuisine, impeccable service, and a cozy ambiance. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an authentic Italian dining experience.”

We didn't have reservations but it was early in the week and we got seated immediately. It was quite busy for a Monday evening. We had drinks, beer and prosecco and ordered pizza. One veggie with goat cheese and one with meat which included ham and pepperoni. We also ordered a starter of mushrooms and requested for everything to come together. Pizzas were so tasty. We also shared a dessert, the chocolate cake and that was really good too. Overall I found it to be a very positive experience. There were 3 birthday celebrations. Service was also very good. Very pleased and will return.
