Dined here with no reservation. Was greeted with a smile and great service We had the Blade of beef and the Haddock Excellent food and even the peas had taste !! Cheeseboard was also excellent. Great value for money and Dry Hopped on tap was a pleasant rare find Would not hesitate to visit again and highly recommended.

Had a pre booked group meal here. Booking could not have been easier. On the night, the food and the service were impeccable. Would highly recommend.

Lovely room in a lovely olde oak beamed hotel. Tasty value for money food, with a varied menu. Friendly polite service. Keep a look out for the ghost 👻😉

Such a lovely place! We popped in for a drink one evening. Beautiful fireplace and lovely little atmosphere

We stayed for 2 nights in the family room which was extremely spacious and very clean. The staff were very welcoming and very attentive to any extra needs and dealt with promptly. The night's sleep was very good and comfortable; breakfast was delicious and very filling with prompt service. The building has character which makes the stay even more enjoyable.

Wonderful stay here for 2 nights, room was great, comfortable, great shower. The food and pub were unexpected stars of the show, though, everyone working there was lovely and helpful -- the chef is brilliant, and everything I had, steak, pate, breakfast, was really thoughtfully done and delicious. Highly recommended.

Did not stay here but came for dinner & catch up with friends on 12/6/23 - while stayed nearby Big courtyard, dog friendly. The lady in the bar brought out our drinks & a dish of water for our dog. Menu had of a nice selection of dishes available. We had plenty of time to choose our food. All was nicely cooked & we all enjoyed our choices, too full for dessert though. We met 3 different members of the team and all were very helpful & friendly (especially to our young Cockapoo) Not sure dogs are allowed in rooms - if so would most certainly consider staying here next visit to Suffolk

Great service and food. Unfortunately let down by a few easily to rectify room issues such as toilet seat loose and wrong shape for the pan, shower valve incredibly hard to turn and toilet roll holder hanging loose. As I said a bit more attention to detail required.

I spent a single night at this country hotel. It's a lovely old building with quirky areas and uneven floors. It had a small island bar with real ale on tap, and the majority of the seating is set up for dining. The owner, Nick, is a very friendly and accommodating host, who has owned this freehouse pub/hotel for 17 years. 5 star food hygiene is the rating for here, and the menu is varied and reasonably priced. I stayed in room 3 which has a high ceiling and it's very spacious. The bed was comfortable (albeit a little creaky!) and the en suite was well appointed and clean. The shower was large, and had rainshower as well as moveable head. If I had to criticise the shower, it would be that there is no grab handles, or any shelves for shampoo etc. There was a large wardrobe with hangers, make up mirror and tea and coffee facilities. The large dash window was lovely, but would have benefited from a net curtain to allow privacy when the blackout curtains are open. Being a quiet village, there isn't too much noise from passing traffic. All in all, a lovely, bijou hotel in beautiful surroundings with lovely staff. Recommended.

Came for dinner with friends, it was very good. Well cooked, food, hot and nicely presented. The premises are spacious, very clean, the toilets were also very clean. Plenty of choice on the menu, good service, and a good wine list. All of the staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. Reasonable prices. Recommended

Long Melford is the quintessential English village that has a number of pubs. The Crown is one and offers a good selection of food and beverages. Tried the Pork Belly which was different to say the least.

We had two meals in the garden. It’s a lovely spot and the food was the best pub meal I’ve had. The chips are amazing! The dishes were all delicious and not just your usual pub fare. The service is great, too. Would highly recommend.

Very lovely friendly staff, sticky squeaky bathroom door (slightly squeaky bed) but very clean and comfortable Good location in the high street Typical English pub with restaurant
