Why we LOVE this chippy? It is a classic, no fuss chip shop with fabulous food, service and quality. Chips, Peas & Gravy (sorry southerners) is my go-to. Peas are served on the bottom, how it should be. Good portion of fresh fried chips (regular is enough!) salt and vinegar is applied before the gravy (the vinegar is great quality and actually tastes good, ) many, I find, taste of nothing. Then a perfectly made, tasty gravy, not to thick or runny- just perfect. The price point feels correct also with two meals (my wife had steak pudding as well) and two drinks was just over a tenner. We travel to this chippy passing dozens of others. It is, in my opinion, consistently the very best chippy around. But don’t take my word for it…. Go give it a try ❤️

Unlike the odd negative review people make mistakes, and just to point out there's No law about shields or wearing gloves bearing in mind that both parties are handling money so if it bothers you then don't lick the change or the windows!! get over it, my experience is positive no more than 3 in the shop plenty of space, there's a PERSPEX shield at the counter, the staff and owner are pleasant, there's a steady flow of customers, and the fish i got hung over the plate and the small chips are plenty enough for 1 person, crisp batter through to the fish, the shop is very clean, there are tables in a separate room but obviously not in use yet . I look forward to trying the Greek vegetarian Spanakopita . Enjoy 👨‍🍳
