The food here is pretty great and the portions are hearty. Definitely the best mushy peas I have ever had. We contemplated ordering an extra side of the peas! They have plenty of sauces to choose from to eat with your fish and chips. We chose the curry sauce and it was delicious. Loved that they have ginger beer. It was delightfully refreshing. The hip hop decor is fun and vibrant. I, also, loved the music playlist. The service was friendly. We had a bit of a wait when our server left due to her shift ending. However, it didn't do too much to dull our overall experience. I would highly recommend checking this place out or even becoming a regular if you're local to the area.
Hands down one of the best chippy joints in Manchester! Fish is fresh and juicy every single time. Never a disappointment. Has become one of my go-to places when I crave for fish and chips. Excellent music too! Highly recommend!
This was seriously beautiful fish and chips ...unique and fun atmosphere, great customer service and fast delivery of the food to our table , but far from a fast food experience. The fish was extremely fresh and tasty, batter was exceptional. For me it was a 10/10. We need one of these in London ASAP! Too many mediocre fish and chip outlets in London. Curry fish was just barely able to taste the curry. Chips while skin on were perfectly done. Biggest complaint was the lack of actual Hip Hop music. In the entire 45m I ate in the restaurant, they never once played a hip hop song. Lots of R&B music but when then name is “Hip Hop Chip Shop” one expects some hip hop…. Decor was spot on with classic 80s Hip Hop magazine and playbills. Interesting place but needs a kick.
Great food, friendly service and a great atmosphere. I had the vegan bratwurst and it was excellent and I am not a vegan but loved it. The chips were the best and also a fantastic Espresso Martini. I Really do recommend this gem of a chippy.
Ventured into this cosy spot in Manchester and was instantly taken by the innovative spin on the classic Fish and Chips. The menu boasted a fantastic variety, and every choice we made was a hit. Despite a packed house, the service was quick and the staff were a delight, especially Holly. This place is a bustling testament to Manchester's warm and hearty dining scene, serving up not just great food, but also a welcoming smile with impeccable service. Can’t wait for our next visit!
The best fish and chips in the UK. The staff was friendly and the songs were good. The fried fish and chips were perfect. I would like to visit again.
This was stop two on a (second) food tour I made up. We were there to sample the fish bites, which were stunning. I liked the quirky movie/retro video game atmosphere- or you can sit outside if the weather is nice.
Hip Hop is one I’m definitely going to come back and order a full meal from!
We arrived and it was super busy, but decided to wait until a table was free. The staff we lovely, and kept us informed. Food was amazing, proper chips, and beautiful battered fish. We also had the brownie with is made on site which was really rich and chocolatey. One of the best brownies ever. Highly recommended this place for great food, great service and great background music.

Beautiful. Im from Bradford where Fish n Chips is award winning and it beat ours,
my friend flew in from Texas and was blown away by the food. Cant wait to visit again and catch a DJ set or performance next time.
