Great cocktails
Had pre booked a table arrived a little early no problem was seated promptly. Had the Mad Hatter cocktail it was fun was £21 for two people. The food was well presented and delicious the menu is varied so should suit most tastes, reasonably priced food. The atmosphere is good although I thought the music was a tad loud when your chatting. The staff pleasant helpful and attentive but not rushed. I would definitely return even if its just for the cocktails there are quite a few.
We had lunch here on our one day in Manchester. We really enjoyed our meal. The restaurant had a cool vibe and the service was good. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed the drink options
We headed out on Sunday morning for breakfast and found our first choice had moved and our second choice had a queue out of the door. Frustration soon turned into very pleasant surprise when we had a look at the menu of a place famous for cocktails but not so much for food.
There was lots of choice at a reasonable price so we went inside. Delighted we did. 1st class breakfast, beautifully presented and accompanied by great coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice! Much better than the breakfast we would’ve got at our first or second choice, which are both very good!
It's been a little while since I did my last Thankful Friday post. I had some very sad news towards the start of the year and I didn't really feel up to trying to put together a list of 'happy things' so I decided to take a little break from these posts. I'm now getting back into my stride and have decided to kicks things off by co-hosting the lovely Jasmine's happiness link-up this week! She's been posting them weekly and it's a great way to recollect and be thankful for the little things that happen in life. This post isn't just about the last week but more an update on life lately:ROME-ING AROUND
Well, Tom and I decided it was time for a road-trip. We packed up our bags and jumped in the car and set off from Liverpool to one of our favourite cities - Manchester. We checked in at the beautiful Townhouse Hotel which is right in the city centre and provides the perfect base for exploring the city.
Happily, I don't have anything bad to say about our brunch at The Alchemist.
The Living Ventures group have their fans and their critics, and although I've liked some places more than others, this place again proves to me that more often than not, you can expect a well run restaurant and a fairly decent standard as this place proves. I guess that's why they're so successful.
It might be a different case for their other food here, I've not tried that, but for breakfast it was top marks for all, no faults to report.
The food was gorgeous and the drinks even more so! I managed to get a ‘Solero’ my favourite cocktail that they’ve unfortunately scrapped from the menu.
The wait and bar staff are all very eager to make you any drink you’d fancy as they are all trained in classic cocktail making, so even if there isn’t your favourite on the menu don’t be afraid to ask for it and I’m sure they’ll be able to make it for you
This has and will always remain my favourite cocktail bar. Can’t wait to visit again soon!
Christmas Dinner.
Food was good.
Feta salad as starter, really good salad. It was tasty although the avocado was not the best one, I truly recommend this starter.
Ribeye steak as main. Tasty and Delicious.
Brownie as dessert. Also a good option.
The atmosphere was great although the place is noisy which makes difficult to keep a conversation with your colleagues.
Cocktails and drinks are probably the best asset for this place. If you are a food lover there are better places in Manchester, but in general a good experience.
Visited early evening but it quickly filled up with some large parties.
Amazing food and overall experience was fantastic, but a minor issue with service. Main courses were not served together and a side came after that.
Overall a wow experience.
Fabulous place. We have been twice over two days, both as a couple and with our children.
The first night was just us in the evening and enjoyed various cocktails which were amazing to watch and tasted great.
The second day we went back with our children for lunch and enjoyed a meal with two cocktails. The use of dry ice and lights, make these cocktails fun and exciting. No children are allowed past 8pm and no dry ice can be added to cocktails for under 18’s.
They also add a £1 for the local charity on to the bill.
Wow just amazing!!! Love the vibe the decor. It feels like your in a science lab. The cocktails were amazing. The music the ambience. Everything was perfect.
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, really good staff, service was quick and food excellent. Also a little bit of magic with all the cocktails, making it a worthwhile experience. Great menu including breakfast and brunch options until 2pm.

We visited The Alchemist on New York Street in Manchester for a corporate event and were initially faced with a challenge in finding adequate seating for our large group. However, thanks to the kind and accommodating staff, we were able to secure a shared large table.
The standout of the evening was the extensive and impressive selection of cocktails. They exceeded our expectations, both in variety and quality. It's clear that the mixologists at this venue are true artists in their craft. The cocktails were among the best we've encountered, and though we didn't handle the bill ourselves, the prices seemed reasonable for the exceptional quality.
On the downside, the cocktails were quite strong in terms of alcohol content. While some might appreciate this, our group felt that it detracted from the overall experience. We were there to enjoy a good time without necessarily getting drunk, and the strong cocktails didn't align with that aim. It would have been better to have cocktails with less alcohol, but perhaps more volume.
All in all, The Alchemist on New York Street in Manchester is a great choice for those looking for a unique and memorable cocktail experience. We do hope they consider adjusting the strength of their cocktails to accommodate a wider range of preferences.
Just what you would expect from an Alchemist Bar; good atmosphere and surroundings, with a particularly excellent Brixton Pale Ale.
The food and drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend the vegetarian burger. Simple and absolutely delicious.
From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, we were blown away. The service provided by Freya, the decor and the atmosphere were really top class.

We came here for the cocktail brunch and would definitely recommend it. It is really good value. The food was nice, I had the maple bacon pancakes which were very nice and generous with the bacon, my only complaint is the bacon had a fair amount of fat on it but this is more personal preference. The cocktails are always fun
