My second time visiting Vertigo, the first time was at the Media City, Salford Quays branch. It is a much smaller establishment than the one at Media City, and on last visits in Manchester, I have struggled to get in the door! Lucky, a quiet, early, damp Manchester Sunday, I managed to miss the crowds! Sunday Brunch Day! I ordered a coffee and the full Vertigo breakfast. Sausage, home made beans, ‘scrambled’ tofu, grilled tomato, mushrooms, hash browns, and a sourdough toast. Firstly, the coffee was one of the best I have ever had in Manchester. It was truly an excellent thing. Rich and flavoursome. Full marks. It is worth popping in just for a takeaway. In honesty, the breakfast was mildly behind that at Salford. Unseasoned, the tofu was a bit of a let down. The plate was very cold, which meant the breakfast brunch was soon cold too. Neither here nor Salford give you any spread for the dry sourdough toast. It’s a but dry on its own. It’s a personal thing, but I’d much prefer some granary over the sourdough. I just felt the Salford breakfast was generally ahead on all counts. Not by a lot, it is still excellent. But still. Service was excellent. Pleasant, friendly, polite and prompt. The biggest issue here is trying to get in! Excellent all round. Despite my nit picking!

Stopped here for breakfast/brunch, hands down the best vegan breakfast we've ever had and we've been vegan for 6 years! We had the Full Breakfast and Vertigo Benedict, we were blown away! Both were absolutely delicious and fab portion sizes too. Lovely drinks too, especially the red velvet matcha would highly recommend. Staff were kind, friendly and very welcoming, you really have to try whilst your in Manchester, whether your vegan or not! They also played great 80s bangers so we were in our element, and it wasn't too loud either so we hear each other talk perfectly. Definitely will visit again when we're in Manchester again.

Lovely food and staff. Everything was super tasty, and the satay skewers were almost indistinguishable from chicken. My favourite thing was the bao buns. Will come back (really want to try the breakfast)

Amazing vegan food!! Come here if you're in Manchester, the food is so good, freshly made and great value for money. 1 small plate, 1 large plate and a drink all for £17 - big portion sizes too! Wish we had longer in Manchester to come and try their breakfast and lunch too!

First time eating here and can’t wait to come back! Had the Sausage Roll & Side Salad and it was a taste sensation!! Fresh, tasty, healthy and good portions exactly what a decent lunch should be. Thank you SO much! We will be back.

Great little cafe serving vegetarian food. Had a pulled jack fruit chilli. Very tasty. Most importantly it’s freshly cooked with only natural ingredients. There arent many eateries you could say you felt good after having a tasty meal. We went back for a cake and coffee after the meal. And they didn’t disappoint either. Highly recommend.

Amazing food! Lovely staff, good price/quality And as soon as you stand outside the restaurant the smell of food seduces you! The pancakes are from another world! Just one little thing, because of the main door not being closed properly it can get a little bit cold inside. 100% Recommended!

Extremely warm inside. Lady at counter was quite pushy when I came in, it was my first time so I just wanted to look around; at the board, menu, the sandwiches, pastries, veggies.. She kept asking if it was for eat in or takeaway, when I mumbled 'eat in' (still looking around because everything looks so good) she said I can sit down and she'll bring the menu. When I sat down it took ages for someone to bring a menu. Nevertheless the menu options are great and food very tasty.

Cute little vegan spot in Manchester! Limited seating but they do have wifi and daily treats. Tried the cheezburger which was great, although the brioche bun was cold. The lemon blueberry cake was very good as well. Would recommend checking this place out. They even have an evening pre-theatre special.

Vegan review: Wanted to eat here for ages after seeing the stall at Manchester’s vegan Christmas markets. I had the mac and ‘cheese’ to start which was so filling. And the chilli for main plus the passion shoot smoothie. Tried a bite of the rocky road cake - my friends all loved it. Love fully vegan eateries, I’ll be back!
