Recently came to this restaurant for a family meal and loved every single moment of it! The food was delicious! The atmosphere was incredible! The staff were very helpful and friendly! We had the Blooming Blossom banquet and we enjoyed every single meal that was included in it! 100% worth the money and will definitely be back when I can! Thank you Little Yang Sing!

One of the Best Chinese restaurants in Manchester, highly recommended by a friend! Located in heart of the China Town in the basement of the building in the main quarter, have to go down to the stairs to enter the restaurant. Highly recommended to make a reservation too. Food and Services are excellent! Truly enjoyed shared deal from the menu, must make sure it is what you want before ordering, quite generous portions. My steamed Sea Bass was best ever tried! Highly recommended!

Wow! What a great find in Chinatown Manchester. Tucked downstairs from the street, this authentic Chinese restaurant serves up some seriously delicious food. We tried the crispy duck, sweet and sour chicken and the pork with black bean. All we’re super tasty. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and don’t know where to go. We went with our kids, and it was a hit with them too. The staff were very friendly and helpful!!

The menu suggest every other Chinese restaurant but in here you will get the very best examples of the staple dishes you find in a British Chinese take away. The only thing that fell below their high standards was a tough pork rub in the starters. Service was also excellent. Just be careful, after dinner here your normal take away will just be a disappointment.

Popped in to Manchester Chinatown before catching a flight back to France. Wasn’t disappointed. Friendly welcome and excellent authentic Chinese food. Disappointed to discover later that a 10% service charge was added to the bill without my knowledge. Check your bill before paying!

Best Chinese I've ever had. So many amazing vegan options that are clearly shown by the green card they can provide. Everything was super delicious. The service was impeccable, quick and very attentive (replacing dropped chopstick and water without asking). I've never been this impressed by a restaurant.

Been coming back to this place for years and tonight was exceptionally good so had to give it 5*. 4 of us, two vegetarians and 2 carnivores, and we are like kings and queens. My daughter and I had the steamed bean curd rolled vegetables, mick duck pancakes, pal Choi, steamed rice, Szechuan chilli aubergine and vegetables in curry sauce.

As a foodie with a fondness for China town in Manchester and a penchant for authentic Chinese cuisine, my experience at Little Yang Sing was a mix of highs and lows. Arriving as a solo diner on a business trip, I found myself sandwiched between two fellow solo diners. To my left, a disgruntled chap lamented about his hour-long wait without any food. However, the swift response of the manager, who promptly apologized and took action, impressed me. Opting for a selection of dim sum to start, followed by quarter crispy duck and spinach in sauce, my order arrived promptly, perhaps spurred on by the urgency created by the neighboring diner's complaint. The service, particularly from Lisa and Chris, was impeccable, with a dedicated water server ensuring my glass remained topped up throughout the meal. Reflecting on past visits, I reminisced about dining here during my university days in the late 90s when it was known as "Little Sister" or something akin. While the nostalgia was palpable, the similarity in prices to those in London left me slightly disappointed. Despite this, the overall experience at Little Yang Sing was positive, with its efficient service, delicious dishes, and a touch of nostalgia making it a place I would consider returning to, albeit with the caveat of managing expectations around pricing.

Had a birthday lunch here and the food was great. Im gluten intolerant and never thought I'd be able to eat Chinese food again, they have an extensive range that caters for my needs and it doesn't feel like a compromise. Been along time since I've enjoyed a really flavoursome meal. Our waitress was very funny

Best vegetable chow mein I’ve ever had! Service was amazing too, we arrived super late and they stayed open for us and were really attentive. 10/10 recommend Portions were also big so I took home the leftovers Salt and pepper chips were a bit weird though, they were almost sugary, not bad just different.

Visiting Manchester for three days and this restaurant was recommended to us before we arrived. It didn't disappoint, excellent food, attentive service. Wow what a find, can't see we'll find a better place to eat over the next two days. Please congratulate your staff on the service they provided.

Loved the food. This photo doesn't do justice to be honest. Also couldn't get a photo of the dimsums as we devoured it soon as it arrived. Highly recommend you visit the place for some dimsums and chowmein among other delicacies.

Highly recommended! A fantastic place where both the food and dining atmosphere are perfect. I highly recommend coming here with friends for a meal (the crispy duck is a must-try!). I had an unforgettable experience here, and I'm grateful to the manager Luke, Cristin, and all the staff, including Piro and Michael, who were very friendly. Despite the boss having a temper, I appreciate this restaurant and everyone here. As for the food, I personally highly recommend the crispy duck, various dim sum dishes, Yangzhou fried rice, and deep-fried ice cream (if they still have it). I highly recommend coming here for a meal with family, friends, or your partner! As for me, I will definitely visit again.

Went during a very busy night and it was clear the staff couldn't cope. Food was average. We waited over an hour for one of our dishes, and they got the order wrong. To be fair, we received a discount for the mistake. Service was inconsistent: some of the servers were charming and did their best, but a few seemed not to care.

Chrysanthemum buffet was the banquet we ordered. Brilliant table service including shredding of duck and filleting the fish. Staff were excellent and professional. All food was piping hot and tasted delicious. Not sure on the beef wrap as the middle course though. Good drinks selection. Big portions and option of fork or chopsticks. Only off-putting thing is the delivery drivers sitting in the doorway we thought it was closed at first. The restaurant was very busy all through our time there.

Went for a dinner on 13th May 2023 at 8:30pm. Not too sure it was newly decorated; the restaurant looked pretty clean and fresh. The platter was nice, it’s pretty large, very tasty with good selection of different food, definitely one of my favorite starters had in restaurants. The main courses were well made too. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Only one thing, it was probably told by the manager, there was always some staff circling the tables over and over like sharks, probably saw them every minute or two. Once one plate emptied, it would be taken away by someone immediately. It might be the way they manage it, however I felt a little stressed and like they were trying to push everyone out as quickly as they can. Over all a very good experience. Will consider to return if go to Manchester again.

A great find in Chinatown! Down the stairs and led to a table with everyone else, it was quiet and only a handful of people. But seating us near each other helped build atmosphere. There was a long wait time to order but once the ball was rolling, things came pretty fast. Food was delicious, but not as good as other Chinese resteraunts in town. The duck in lemon and honey was delicious, but very very fatty (more so than usual for a duck dish). The food was on balace extremely delicious, hot, well seasoned and despite the complaint of fatty duck, delicious. A small annoyance, their Cola's are quite expensive for cola and come in very small thin glasses. It's quite a rip off of your money especially when the food is reasonable priced. Staff are very pleasant, but hard to flag down to place another order. There was a 20 minute wait from the mains being taken away and a desert menu given to us finally managing to get their attention to order said desert. Overall, if the staff were a bit more attentive, and they sorted out their pricing for soft drinks in comparison to the quantity of soft drink you get, it would easily be a 5* rating.

Me and my friend found this place in search of a good and authentic Chinese food, to satisfy our craving for it. We were gratified as not only the food was temptingly tasty, but the ambience was also soothing. The staff was friendly and prompt. Noodles and tofu were good, but I liked Dim-sum the most, properly cooked full of flavors. It's a great place to enjoy appetizing Chinese cuisine with friends and family.

Have always frequented here for a nice roast duck meal. This time I thought I'd try their wonton noodles for a change. Did not disappoint. Normally I won't recommend ordering anything other than roast duck or roast pork (char sui) dishes as this is what they do best. But if efficiency and superb service is what you're after then this is the place to be.

Been here many times, both for the buffet-all you can eat and also had ordered ala carte menu. The buffet is underground and there are many different dishes to try out. Ordered peking duck, lobsters, chilli prawns, kangkong from their ala carte menu. It was delicious.

Came highly recommended by a local. Visited the place for lunch on a Saturday. It looked empty and at 2.30pm; wondered if it was shut. I asked a man sitting at the enterance if it was open, and he said "of course; can't afford it otherwise". Well the place does not need a laughing Buddha when they have this person around.

Nice comfortable interiors - nothing spectacular but reminded me of eateries in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Dim Sum menu and regular alacarte handed over. Extensive choice. Communication with staff not bad at all and unlike many Chinese eateries friendly - ready to explain the dishes and how much to order.

Ordered 5 Dimsums (most have 3pcs); a main course - duck in black bean sauce; morning glory with garlic and egg fried rice.

The fried wantons were oily but crisp and great to taste - specially with the sweet pink sauce. The beef packet with ginger onion sauce nice. The prawn dumplings Suimai very nice. The steamed pork dumpling with nuts Ok. Star for us - the Tom Yum Wantons. Superb.

The mains did not disappoint either. Lunch for 4 with tea and service charge (no dessert or drinks) GBP 58. A bit pricey for lunch but extremely satisfying.

In the heart of Manchesters Chinatown, yang sing is by far the best Chinese restaurant I have experienced in Manchester.
With a large selection of chinese classics and two large floors it's a great place for a big get together.
Well worth giving it a consideration if ever you were in the area.

First Time in Manchester. The hotel recommended this restaurant. While the good was good and very authentic (I try ChineseT food every place I visit to compare the freshness and tast). he service was not that great, as the server got our order mixed up and we had an argument about what we ordered. Reasonably priced. I would still recommend to eat at this place, as the food was good!

The Yang Sing has had its ups and downs over the years, but in my experience more often due to the vicissitudes of fashion. It has been inexplicably dropped from the Good Food Guide's 2014 edition. A quite bizarre decision, from an increasingly bizarre and partisan guide that has lost its way. If anything the Yang Sing is better today than it was last year, or even 16 or so years ago, when the Good Food Guide described it as probably the best Cantonese restaurant in western Europe

Now eating is something that I am good at and I LOVED the dim sum on offer.

We ate, amongst other things: Prawn toast, paper wrapped prawns, chicken & sweetcorn parcels, vegetarian dumplings and some sort of delicious duck filled bun. All were excellent, particularly the steamed dim sum.

Yang Sing is one of those classic Manchester restaurants that has been around for donkey's years that even people at my work all know about even though they don't come over here too often. Me and Bailey were getting a bit fed up of people being really surprised that we had never been there so decided to get ourselves booked in and see what the fuss was about.

Fabgrub. I love the Yang Sing. Have never had a poor experience there. One thing that I now ADORE I ate for the first time only a couple of years ago, thanks to a friend I had lunch with: turnip cake! It is a GORGEOUS dish!

The conversion of the humble turnip into summat so magnificent amounts to a great deal! Magical alchemy!

May God continue to love Manchester, and all who live here! We love good food, and have embraced a great deal of variety with great vim

Just OK - over-rated. Went to Yang Sing (we used to live there) with a few colleagues. We had the banquet and left to the chef to prepare. Super busy - even on a Wed's evening. Started with some dim-sums - just OK - standard items - steamed pork dumplings, scallops, pork bun, pan-seared shrimps. The main meal comprised pan-seared beef on a bed of simple lettuce, duck over vegetables, seafood over a brown sauce and veggies and sweet and sour shrimps - flambe. Looked OK, tasted just OK - not fresh shrimps. The duck is good, crispy and savory.
Expensive, good service but certainly not the best Manchester can offer. BTW - Manchester does have a great China town. Yang Sing just passed its shelf date!

Best Customer Service. Been several times and yes, this is a high ticket restaurant, but the brilliant service and the food lets you know what you paid for.
If you're naturally indecisive they can ask a couple of quick questions about allergies and preferences and throw together a surprise buffet for you (minimum of two people). This gives you a culinery magical mystery tour which can't be beaten.
I've been there before and only had a table booked for 6 which became a table for 10 at the last minute and by adding a bigger tabletop they accomodated at the last minute.
If a friend tells them it's your birthday they'll even throw in a fruit salad and a custard tart with a candle in it, plus a token gift.
They will bend over backwards to make your night special.
Since they've redecorated it looks a little bit 80's retro downstairs (black shiny marble everywhere) but if you don't mind that it's a great atmosphere.

We have eaten here for years and, as my family is Chinese, our continued custom says a lot about it's level of authenticity. The place has become more upmarket and prices have gone with it, but the quality remains. Ask for their recommendation on dim sum for a real treat add always a surprise! The roast pork 'char sieu' is fantastic. Service is attentive and friendly.

Just OK. I was recently taken to the Yang Sing by some colleagues and was promised great food and a great evening; but to be honest what we had was some ok food and an ok evening.
We had to wait for over 30 minutes for our pre-booked table to be ready. The menu was huge and there was plenty to choose from - as a vegetarian the selection was much better than the average, but I was a little suspicious to see so many 'mock' dishes; from 'mock chicken' to 'mock prawns' - if you can think of a meat dish, then they could provide a 'mock' alternative.
When the food arrived there were a few surprises, for example jumbo king prawns turned out to be jumbo king prawn singular still in shell; which wasn't quite what one of my colleagues was hoping for...
I was a little disappointed with my beancurd dish, which seemed to have had the life deep-fried right out of it; but the food and the service was ok overall.
