I was impressed with today's experience at @cha.ology. Everything was made freshly, meticulously, and innovatively. Each tea offered so many new sensory pleasures all set in wonderful, minimalistic space. I've never been a fan of red bean, but this certainly converted me. Thank you to my friend for inviting me, I highly recommend this place if you are a lover of tea and Japanese culture. I also bought my partner some fresh chocolate truffles so he didn't miss out!

Wow! 10/10 What a truly fantastic experience! We went to a quiet tea time experience and it was absolutely fantastic in every way, how often do you get time to relax in this busy world? From the second we arrived into the tea room we were treated with a lot of courtesy, kindness and respect, and the atmosphere of the tea room was really calm and welcoming. Before we sat down, we were guided through the menu choices in great detail about the tea, and selected what we fancied if you weren't familiar with any of the teas or options you needn't worry as it was all explained . We had also mentioned on booking we were vegan and were catered for in every way and didn't feel like a bother whatsoever, the staff are fantastic! We got to choose specific tea ware for our Matcha and were shown to our designated table. The decor was such a brilliant, minimalist touch which instantly added to the meditative feel of the whole experience. Our teas and paired sweets came out, and again our hosts described in great detail the flavours and origins of the ingredients. All were delicious, and we experienced flavours and quality ingredients that we normally would never get a chance to try. Once we had finished, our hosts came over and talked about each artist behind the teaware that we chose, explaining about the origins and the type/style of pottery and brought other examples over of their work, really great touch which added a lot to the experience. We left feeling well and truly spoilt and relaxed, having had a completely different, experience that took you into a little piece of tranquility in the heart of the city centre. Please don't for a second read the bad reviews, the guys here have something truly special in the heart of Manchester, I'm that impressed we've actually booked to go again. 100% recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Cha-ology's quiet tea time in Manchester and I couldn't be more impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel welcomed and the staff who went above and beyond to make sure my experience was personalised and peaceful. The tea ceremony highlights their seasonal Hanabiramochi paired with Seiju matcha, and finishing with Matcha and Hojicha Nama Chocolates that were particularly memorable. I appreciated the opportunity to learn about the stories and origins of the food and glassware, which transported me to Japan right in the heart of Manchester. I highly recommend Cha-ology to anyone looking for a unique and tranquil tea experience.

We had a lovely, peaceful time. It was a unique experience and opportunity to relax and think of nothing else but tea. All of the teas and snacks were delicious and special. The tableware items were unique and part of the experience too. Thank you for having us and I hope to return soon

We spent peaceful, mindful and meaningful time here. The hosts were really nice and the teas were great. I’ve read a lot of reviews before I come, but didn’t experience any of the negatives myself. Even if they were not welcoming etc. they have changed a lot. Both of them wore smiles when serving us, and tried to serve us best. Most of the rules are not more strict than you would restrict yourself to be a respectful person, the only thing is talking during quite tea time. Someone might find hard not to talk when come with a friend, so why not try this place alone first? The peaceful atmosphere is built and protected by all of us.

I've never been anywhere like Cha-Ology before. It's an incredible, unique, beautiful, zen experience. The passion that the owners put into their work shines through every single detail. The love they have for tea and Japanese wagashi is present in every moment. I've been to the teahouse for 2 chakkais an I don't know how many tea times, both quiet and casual. My husband and I always have a reservation for tea time at some point in the future. It's our nice little moment of connecting and being in the present. My husband even changed his phone wallpaper. It used to be a photo of me, now it's a strawberry mochi with matcha.

We had such a wonderful afternoon at quiet tea time this week. It was our first visit and we chose the summer tea course which was really refreshing and perfect for a hot day! The accompanying sweets were also sublime and had clearly been made with exceptional care and skill. The hosts were very welcoming and took the time to explain everything to us, their knowledge and passion really shines. A truly special place and memorable experience, we hope to be able to visit again!

It’s easily to tell that the owner does have lots of zest in Japanese tea culture and is determined to deliver the value through her every item. I almost visited it everyday within my 5-day trip in Manchester. I would say all the dessert and matcha drinks I had from Cha-ology were as good as the most authentic ones I’ve had in Kyoto. Staffs were also very gentle and helpful. Definitely worth of visiting. Highly recommended!

Went to the chakai with my family and had such a lovely experience! Instead of the usual tea time experience, we joined the 6th anniversary chakai. Overall, there were 7 courses + matching drinks +take home gifts. Everything was so well prepared and thoughtful. We had never experienced such a special and personal dining experience. Definitely recommend it. Thank you so much ❤️
