La Carreta Mexican Restaurant

I had lunch with my wife and was stated right away at 1pm. Service was very good and the food was excellent. I had the burrito grande. This is A really nice place. The ambiance and music put me in A really good mood. This wasn't my first time here, but it reminded me that I need to come here more often.

Very busy on Saturday nights. I was on a list for over a half hour. Text was sent 📤 to me when my table was ready. Friendly service. Tables have plexiglass installed between them. Menus are available online. I had a coupon from the Hippo newspaper. I ordered Alitas, fried chicken wings, for an appetizer. My sinuses paid for it. I had Ranchero Chef?s Special, steak 🥩 with grilled peppers, tomatoes, onions and your choice of fajitas and chicken enchilada. Dessert was Flan, which though pricey, was the right amount without overfilling your stomach. My unsweetened ice tea was refilled without asking. All of my food was good, though the steak 🥩 had a bit to much fat. Salsa and nachos were offered as an appetizer. I took those home. I had leftovers and it made a good lunch and dinner. Wifi available. Parking lot can fill up fast. May want to call ahead on weekends. I recommend a visit. Update: Saturday afternoon, February 2021; I had another Hippo 🦛 Press coupon for lunch. I had the Speedy Gonzales with chicken 🐔, a taco 🌮 with an enchilada and Mexican rice. I was offered a refill on my iced tea. Service was great 👍. My server was a young lady with the initials C V. She said "Thank you" when I mentioned that the salsa tasted good. Only issue, the taco 🌮 tasted okay but lacked in filling. It needed tomatoes and a little sour cream. Cheese 🧀 was just thrown in. Update: Saturday afternoon, March 2021; Great service, good food. I had the Lunch Special#12 with a chicken 🐔 taco 🌮. Everything tasted good 😋, but, the taco 🌮 was lacking. I took the tomato 🍅 and sour cream from the special and added it to the taco. I'm not sure I had a burrito and enchilada or two of the same item. Update: Saturday afternoon, April 2021; I had Lunch Special#9, tamale and burrito with rice 🌾,and it was good. Service was good but I had a wait for my table. It was short. Update: Saturday afternoon, May 2021; Lunch Special#8. Burrito, tostada and Mexican rice 🌾. Yum 😋! Update: Friday afternoon, January 2022; Lunch Special #10, Enchilada, tostada and cheese 🧀 quesadilla. Very 👍 good!

I recommend the Molcajete! My significant other and I shared this dish (as yes it's pricey but it feeds 2 easily) and we both agreed it's hand-down the best dish we have ever had while eating out. We are actually taking another trip to the area soon and we have this place on our itinerary because we enjoyed it that much. The place was packed when we went so clearly others know how awesome it is. Regardless of that, the service was still quick and attentive.

My god, it's been a decade since we've been here and it is just as good as we remember. Rice and beans (like good bread at an Italian joint) are top notch. This means you can expect everything else to be good too. Salsa, cheese dip, chips. Quessidilla, rice, fajitas, carnitas, and yes, my daughter (the philistine) ordered a hot dog. Rice is especially good. Everything else gooder still. Thank you for being you, La Carreta (but don't visit their Portsmouth location...) Price was great too!

If you have a taste for Mexican cuisine, we certainly recommend La Carreta, located on Hooksett Road in Manchester, NH. You can choose to dine-in or outside in their cool curbside, cafe style dining area. The menu offers a wonderful selection of authentic Mexican dishes, as well as several Specialties. We also noticed a Kids Menu for family-friendly dining. It was late so we dined inside and enjoyed the Cultural decor and some homemade Salsa that tasted really good. It had just the right amount of heat that went well with La Carreta’s complimentary bowl of Tortilla Chips! The Fried Chimichanga w/beef and Enchiladas Super Rancheras that we ordered was also tasty and priced well. Our meals were kindly served by Walter, who provided excellent service that definitely added to the pleasant, layed-back atmosphere of La Carreta, Restaurante Mexicano!

Incredibly frustrated. I have been going here regularly for YEARS. I have a severe gluten allergy and always order the chicken tacos on corn tortillas and tell them I have an allergy. Wednesday night, I went in and specifically told them I had a severe allergy and could they please make note with the cook. They assured me I was all set. They brought me my tacos and I ordered a glass of wine, i picked up the taco and started eating. Halfway through I realized it didn’t taste right, I asked if they were sure it was GF and another waiter said “ no; that’s flour.” I started to get very nervous and said “ I need to go right now I’m going to need to get to the ER right away I’m going to have a reaction.” At which point, the man said “ okay hold on, let me get your check.” Then he started making someone else’s drink. A woman looked at him and said “ you need to get her check NOW she has to go to the ER. At which point he gave me the check which charged me for the half glass of wine id had. I take full responsibility for the fact that going out to eat is my risk, what bothered me so much was his lack of any sort of concern when I told him what had happened. And then to still charge me when I had just told him my life was in danger, made me furious. I sent emails asking the manager to call me and have heard nothing. I will no longer be going out to eat because I’ve learned my lesson, but if anyone else has an allergy please be cautious and aware going to this restaurant. They obviously don’t care. Very scary.
