Golden Eagle

We visited the Golden Eagle after getting some vouchers through our door. We was alittle hesitant to go as the last time a fair few years back it wasn't the best of visits! How it has changed, the service was amazing happy bar staff and the food was a hell of a lot better quality! This has restored our faith in the pub and we will be back again soon.

Visited here about a couple of weeks ago with family. We entered to a very friendly atmosphere and were greeted by a lady (I forget her name! I think it was Neesha). The menu was full of really good selections! I opted for the breaded scampi. The rules had changed since we last visited so we had to order at the bar which wasn't an issue at all. We were served by Riley and he was a great laugh, you can tell he loves his job! The other people on our table ordered through the app and the drinks were brought over by Owen. The drinks arrived very fast and with a smile. We we're told the wait for food was a little longer than usual because of a big table and a weekly quiz (which we will definitely be back for), but we thought the food still came out fairly quickly. My dad forgot his peppercorn sauce with the mixed grill but the helpful chap Alex at the bar sorted this with no issue. We also thought the chemistry between the bar staff was an added plus to the place! Will definitely be back again next week and will recommend this place! Top notch staff, food and management.

The other half surprised me and treated me to a night off cooking! We came here and had some garlic breaded mushrooms, mozzarella dough balls and then when my mega mix grill arrived was regretting the starters 🙈 still left space for a sticky toffee pudding and custard. Service was amazing the team was friendly on arrival. We will be back again soon.

This place is just a joy from the moment you arrive. Plenty of parking, nicely kept,clean and tidy from the outside in. Nice friendly greeting as we entered (unlike some places who dont acknowledge you for 10 mins) and shown to our table. The waiting staff soon dealt with our order in a friendly manner, food came reasonably quickly and looked as delicious as it tasted. Definitely be returning. Was a bit hesitant about coming here as haven’t been in almost 5 years. I used to work here FOH and left 5 years ago. The place went really downhill and I heard nothing but awful things about it but today, my boyfriend decided this is where we were eating and I have to say we both really enjoyed it! The staff were welcoming and we were served by Owen who was lovely. The food was delicious and came out so fast even though it was quite busy 😊

We are so pleased that we chose to visit after we had picked up our daughter from work at Ransom Woods,when you walk into this lovely homely pub to be greeted by a friendly face that showed us to our table,can not fault anything from the service,the tasty hot food that is brought to your table by another friendly face,great value for money from a lovely menu where there's something for everyone and my daughter's favourite part was the very yummy looking pudding. Thank you to all the staff and hopefully we will be back soon.
