The Fox

We had a lovely experience here at the Fox for my dads birthday! The food was lovey and our waiter, Lisa, was not only amazing at her job but super informative when it came to allergies and immediately put me at ease. Olivia, our other waiter, is a credit to the team and a lovely, smiley young person! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Just got home from a great 3-course mothers day meal. The food was really good from the set menu (only knocked a star off because the saffron velouté was a bit thin and the diced tomato felt a little out of place, but I'm probably just being picky). My yuzu margarita I could've had a bathtub full it was perfect. Overall Molly was an absolute delight and very patient with my million questions (I'm so sorry haha) and made it a brilliant end to my mothers day!

Update December 2023 Original review below. Changed to 5 stars, came back mid December and had steak, probably one of the most tasty steak we have ever had, so we came back between Xmas and New year, the ambiance was so festive and also relaxed, it was perfect. I had Prawns and my Hudband had Calamari for starters, I don't eat calamari, but my husband said try it, wow, it was amazing and if they still have it on when we next visit, I will be having it. The prawns were amazing, too. I had a burger, and I can safely say the best one I have had up until now. It tasted meaty, and the flavours were amazing. Compliments to the chefs and all the other staff. Exceptional service. Would very highly recommend the Fox. April 2023 This really should be 4.5 stars. We were a party of 10, The service given by Chloe was fantastic. She was helpful, friendly, and very professional. The food was amazing and there was a great atmosphere. The only reason I gave 4 stars was due to the waitress bringing the desert menu who didn't let us know what wasn't available, so after spending 10 minutes choosing our deserts and placing our order we were then told, sorry that one is unavailable. Had we been told when the menus were brought, it would have saved the disappointment and embarrassment at the time. Everything else was spot on.

Very nice food. I got the trio of meats and each was cooked really nice, the pork was the tastiest and really melt in your mouth. You don’t get a lot of veg and potatoes so felt the portion wasn’t great considering the price. Maybe some mash or more veg would have been nice. We ordered the cauliflower cheese which was definitely needed. Desserts were lovely. It was very busy as you might expect and felt like the staff were rushed off their feet, they were great and very helpful to us but would have been nicer if I felt they were a bit more relaxed.

Really lovely meal. Enjoyed three courses. Presentation was brilliant and the food itself was very tasty! Would definitely return. We got two 3-courses and a number of drinks. *As requested*Only minor improvements to get 5 stars including: waitress made a couple of errors when ordering. E.g. Steak came with prawns instead of peppercorn sauce as asked for. And the noodles in the salmon dish were considerably overcooked. Aside from that everything went incredibly well and would happily return :)
