Had 4 meals here. 2 breakfasts, 1 fish n chips and then 1 burger meal. Food was OK, many choices for breakfast. Service was mediocre on an evening and worse at breakfast, with staff not explaining buffet and not asking if we wanted tea or coffee until we had eaten. A smile would have helped too. Atmosphere, none at breakfast, no interaction from staff. Evenings were a little bit too loud for our liking. Please don't read this and think it's bad. It's not. Just could be much better.
Really impressed, as a vegetarian, I had plenty of options to choose from, you can build your own meal and add your own vegetarian I option, and they have wine clearly marked on the menus. Food was good. Service was great, thanks to Lisa, the deputy manager, who was very friendly, helpful, and offered to get our drinks for us too. Great atmosphere cos I love sport and they have sport screens everywhere.
By far the best crispy chicken burger I've ever had. Lovely staff and quick service. Will definitely visit again when I'm next in the area
We stayed at the Sporting Lodge and used the pub for a night of drinking and also for breakfast the next morning. Bar staff were great, very friendly and chatty. The bar manager runs a great team and I would recommend here if you stay at the Sporting Lodge.
Very loud and very busy. The barmaid/waitress helped us tremendously with my wifes gluten free needs. Our food arrived hot and was delicious.
I did ask one of the other waitresses if I could have another drink and rather disappointingly was told I'd have to go to the bar as it was too busy. I didn't bother as I wanted to keep eating hot food and not queue for 10 minutes. That lost the 5th star. If I'm eating with table service, I like to drink with it too.
Really big portions and well priced. Food was hot and fresh . Salad was fresh. Really nice meal overall

Good food Nice place. The workers are really Nice the food os good. Just do not giving five star's for 2 reasons, first even without people inside i was too much time waiting for the meels or the drinks.... 15 minutes for One coffe without any costumers os too much time. The second reason: i was with a child 3 yold, asked for a soup and they charge me the regular price and not the kids menu.
Lovely interior decoration with wine bottles around a mezzanine floor, the food was really good, and well presented, polite staff in a clean well priced restaurant.
I went for Sunday carvery with my family. The value for money was excellent. Two courses for £9.95.
The quality of the food was very good and portion size huge!
We will definitely be back.
