The name sounds homely, but the food is top notch. Home-cooked lunch, great drinks, and lovely owners with totally chilled vibe. You know a place is great when the first thing a little boy says when he comes in is "it's a nice little café, isn't it?"

Absolutely lovely food, and very friendly staff. Visited with 2 adults and 3 children and had a very tasty ploughman's lunch, jacket potatoes, and toasted sandwiches. Served beautifully. Just made it before last lunchtime orders at around 2:45. Glad we did!

Now renamed The Giggling bean. Nice food helpful staff and dog friendly. Bit of an Italian theme with a nice selection of biscuits and treats.
