Fitted us in even though they were busy, we hadn’t booked and we had the dog with us. Then we had the best meal we’ve had in a long time, gastro pub food at high st chain prices. Highly recommended
Our first visit to The Horse and it was fab!
We had an antipasto sharer to start and then onto mains -Shin Pappardelle for my husband and Mussels for me and both were amazing (the fries were very tasty too!!), shame there was not room for pudding as I am guessing that this was going to be something special as well!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff & great chef!
Fantastic place, pastrami was absolutely delicious. Pizza menu was super interesting and well executed. Will deffo be back. thanks guys spot on
One of the best pizzas I've ever had, one of the worst desserts. Lovely environment, Eastern pizza was lovely on a light, crisp base. Ice cream was a bit of an insult and not cheap.
excellent in every way! The chef here is outstanding. The Indian inspired cuisine is delicious. Wonderful staff and service
Nice pub with really good pizzas.
Also the frittata is really good.
We enjoyed our stay.
The waitress was very friendly.
We definitely will come back and recommend.
This is a great pub, which also does fantastic food. The front bar is friendly, relaxed, and a traditional British pub.
There is also a more modern but still nice restaurant to the rear.
The menu is a varied a la carte as well as an amazing range of handmade pizzas, and a separate lunch menu.
The range of drinks is good, and staff are friendly and attentive.
I had the meatball 'bada bing' calzonne. It was fine, but didn't quite live up to the hype of "...the best pizza this side of Rome". Portions were generous, and the food was nicely presented. Perfectly reasonable dinner, but I have had better. Service was perfectly pleasant, just not the fastest, given the place wasn't full.
The food served here is top notch and I would recommend the chicken meatball pasta dish over the pizza (which I also tried on another occasion). The other dishes aside from the promoted pizza are excellent in flavour. Unsure why pizza is promoted so much on the menu when Berto’s next door is better for pizza. Mix of friendly and not so friendly staff.
Go for the other stuff on the menu, it really is fantastic!
A lovely place with fantastic food had a slight issue which was dealt with with the utmost professionalism, well worth a visit.
If you ever wondered why the star system of Michelin was in place, it is to indicate what kind of restaurants are worth the roadtrip.
This Pub run by a lovely family is very good, me and my family visited the establishment in the picturesque town of Moretonhampstead on a Friday afternoon and where pleasantly surprised from the first get go. The pub is alive and not super loud without music blasting out of the speakers. The design inside made me feel very welcome and the fact that they had a very local gin on the backbar even more. The menu for lunch was really good devided and very well priced. I choose the Rueben sandwich due to a past experience I encountered with one in Katz Deli New York. From the home smoked pastrami to the pleasantly sauerkraut and the crispy bread this was a sure winner and a defining reason for me to make that journey back to this lovely pub in the hills of Dartmoor. Thank you for the lovely service and the best Rueben I ate outside of New York city.
Yummy pizzas and tasty puddings. We had a lovely time here
