Went today for Sunday lunch - where to start! We arrived and kindly had our coats taken and hung up. It's a beautifully warm atmosphere with modern yet cosy decor. We decided to have a drink in the pub side - amazing service from Paul behind the bar and the two other gentleman who took our drink and food orders. A delicious array of breads brought to us to nibble on. When food was ready we were taken to our table and enjoyed two delicious courses. All staff were polite, kind and attentive and facilities perfectly clean. We would both 100% recommend and return, definitely good value for money and a lovely venue for a delicious Sunday dinner.

Fabulous food. Service very attentive and eager to please. Restaurant would highly recommend.. evening meal was the best we have eaten for a very long time. Stayed for two nights, and was disappointed with the selection of breakfast choice. Cooked breakfasts were fine, but no "continental " style choice at all. No fresh fruits or yogurt. No cold meats or cheese. Very limited cereal. You definatley need to order from the menu sheet.

Always great food when I go here (it is still the only place ever I’ve enjoyed a mushroom dish). Food is very good with good variety and decent service. The truffle chips are well worth having as an extra side. Parking can be difficult at busy times so allow for this especially in poor weather. The venue feel spacious yet cozy and I’ve always saved this place for nights out on special occasions.

Excellent as always. First class service, high quality food and drinks and welcoming ambience (next to log fire). Many thanks. See you again soon.

As always a great evening. Staff are very good and everything runs smoothly. Food is just a bit different from other restaurants , which makes it interesting. Also always a great atmosphere.

Fabulous looking pub and accommodation. Really friendly and welcoming staff at check in, the pub/restaurant, breakfast and check out. Small but varied menu, amazing starter and desert, but slightly disappointed with the mains (possibly because it was a Sunday and the roast had been going all day). Room (Stour) could have done with an opening window, very stuffy. Only issue being the website, Sunday offer allowed for £70 to be spent on food, but at check out the computer system only allowed a £60 discount which is a little misleading.

Unfortunately I had a fall in the carpark by treading on a large stone and losing my balance however once inside and seated your staff were very attentive and supplied me with plasters etc and an ice pack as I had cut open one of my knees. The service was excellent and very quick, no trying to grab someone's attention to be served. We had a small child with us and we were supplied with plenty of straws to keep her happy while using and playing with her drink. The food was excellent and supplied in good time, the wine we choose was lovely and went down very well and was just what was needed after my accident ! Dessert was good too. Please pass on my thanks to your staff.

Found this beautiful inn on a drive around the countryside, absolutely stunning country inn with excellent décor and exceptional food. Food was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it. The place is a bit pricey and the food portions are quite small but it's because this isn't just a country pub with pub grub, this is a high end inn with high end food. The atmosphere was brilliant and the place had loads of character and charm. It was a really nice place to eat and chill and the inn garden was very quiet and calming and with the beautiful sunshine it was lovely sitting in the garden having a drink. This inn sits right near an old flint stone bridge which dates back to the 14th century and is looked after by national heritage. The village is very beautiful and the people are very friendly. The owner of the inn and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Check this place out just a few miles from Kennet near Newmarket and red lodge you won't be disappointed. A+++

Our overall experience was good but I did state when booking the table that it was our 49th anniversary I thought you would have given the wife a small token

Being a Chestnut Group establishment means you know that this will be of a good standard. However, the service was excellent, the food beautifully presented, and it all tasted wonderful. Certainly surpassed a good standard. Would have stayed overnight, but they were fully booked. Next time, maybe!

We have a wonderful meal every time we come. Beautifully cooked and presented, and the front of house are always friendly and welcoming. We love it here.
