Well what more can I say....the most amazing fish & chips we've ever had. We have come to this chip shop 3 times whilst staying in Helmsley. My husband and son called in today and ordered fish & chips 5 times. Honestly they are amazing. Quality is fantastic. Food 100%. Owner is so helpful. We never go anywhere else when we're in the area. Lovely fish and chips - cooked freshly to order. Generous portions - could feed two if you aren't super-hungry. A short drive from Helmsley and we managed to park close by. Good value at £7 for a nice size fish and plenty of chips. Recommended,

Well me and my wife came up this neck of the woods today from barnsley to Lancaster then decided to spend a couple of weeks up here, got here and thought let's go get some scran and find a chippy........
Spotted this place driving past looking for somewhere and popped in, extremely glad we did...
The owner is brilliant, what a genuinely nice chap he really is, turns out we lived in the same area a few years apart and we had a right nice chat and was great listening to his snippets of how he ended up in this beautiful area, whilst the young lady served us and gave some much needed thoughts on this area, we both walked away with our fish, chips and curry sauce...
Food (take away)... well its been a while since I've had chips that actually taste like authentic proper cooked chips (not this pale white rubbish people pass for chippy chips) they was perfect and so was the cod, a nice big peice of cod it was and not only was it cooked perfect but the batter had a really nice flavour and took me back to been a young lad near seaside ... curry sauce I don't know how it was made but I can honestly say its the best curry I think I've had, I did say we're here a couple of weeks and if I like it I'll be back ... I think I'm going to be eating fish and chips quite a bit this week so I'm absolutely certain I'm going back to this proper chippy for sure.
If the owner does see this review, you should be proud of the food you made me today as I felt like I was at the beach in my teens...

A short wait , but cooked to order and service with a smile.

Excellent cod, chips and chat from the charismatic owner. Ordered early and went for a pint down the road. Will return to both. Even went out of his way to make more mushy peas for us. Highly recommend!
Great chippy. Nice friendly geezer behind the fryer. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 pop in and get a munch. Fish was fried spot on.
Chips were fresh and tasty. I hadn't had a battered sausage for ages. I wasn't disappointed. Husband's steak pie was a bit smaller than expected but good meat content. Staff were friendly. Reasonable price.
Great fish and chips, all cooked to order. Really nice people who own and run the fish and chip shop in Nawton, where I stayed on a week's holiday. Very highly recommended.
Traveled here from from doncaster and omg 10/10 seriously one if the best chippys we've ever had! And to top it off we got speaking to the owner John and he was one of the nicest blokes, will deffo be back when we are next out this way 👍 cheers jodie and rich xx
Visited whilst on holiday in July. Nice fish and chips. Although there are raisins in the curry sauce, not for us. Good peas.
