Decent food, reasonably priced, friendly staff.
The food is nice and the staff are great but the service was a little slow. Starters came within 15 minutes but mains, approximately an hour from when we arrived. Restaurant was approximately 60 percent full when we went.
Parking is free from 5pm at the multistorey car park behind the restaurant (from 6pm on Sunday).
Worth a visit, would definitely go back.
Arrived around 7pm on a Monday night and got seated right away. Service was friendly and prompt. All the food including appetizers came out warm, which was a pleasant surprise. Ordered the Samosa Chaat, Chicken Tikka Masala and Daal - everything was tasty, warm and cooked properly.
The size of the Naan was a surprise (a single looks big enough to feed 3!). The waitstaff was very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended and would definitely return!
Absolutely amazing. Took my father here for his birthday as he loves Curry and I've known Akbars to be one of the best Indian restaurants (if not the best) in Newcastle. From the minute we walked in the staff greeted us like relatives they had not seen in a long time. Made us very welcome. The service puts 5 star hotel restaurants to shame. Food was superb and at a very reasonable price. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended to tasty food. The manager was hands on as well and came to check if everything was okay. We were overwhelmed by the great service and tasty food. So much so I forgot to take picture of the food and at all of it like a wild animal after the first bite. 10 stars. Keep it up Akbars!
Great food which was as tasty as it was varied. And the place is modern and bright. The star of the show was the naan which could have been a meal in itself! And it wasn't just a show piece, it was flavoursome and incredibly light. The star fir me was the onion and potato bajhi. Not greasy and full of flavour. I'd definitely go back
Amazing 👌👍 experience. Full 5 star for incredible service, taste and the decor. Tried samosa chat in the starter. Just wow!! Karahi gosht in main course was delicious. Pilau rice and aloo Gobi is also perfectly made. Overall thumbs up for the service and recommended to others to try once.
Got the chicken nambali as a starter which was delicious. The mains were very flavour some and portions were good for the price. The naan like the other branches is huge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking off street nearby or the granger carpark is next to here.
Best food and ambience. Visited more than twice and loved their chicken tikka masala fish♥️
Excellent eatery with genuine South Asian food! The manager, the other guys who took orders, served food, took away dishes, and the girls at the reception were all marvelous. Ishi, Rab, and Raha are the three whose names I recall.
I believe this is a restaurant owned and run by Pakistani guys based in Bradford, but is known as an Indian restaurant.
Food was delicious. We ordered their signature "family garlic naan". It was described to be as big as the ear of an elephant. However, it turned out to be even bigger than that. We ate it with Nihari lamb curry and daal tadka. For drinks we had a jug of sweet Lassi, and Ras Malai for dessert.
My daughter and I really enjoyed the repast. We plan to revisit.
