I attend an excellent weekly folk session run by Nick Pynn. Violin, cello, flute, mandolin and guitar. We are led by Nick to learn to play various folk tunes. It is a privilege to be inspired by such an expert and likeable person as Nick.
I was here once, briefly, to teach a small class. It went very well.

It serves good healthy food in the cafe and the people there are friendly. They have a film club that shows some pretty good films and there's also a storytelling group that runs storytelling events. Oh, and most importantly the place is not pretentious.

I visit Hillcrest Community Centre twice a week. I can always rely on a friendly welcome and lovely cup of coffee. If I have time to stay for lunch l know that it will be very tasty and generous.
